FYI, we’ve just made a release candidate (RC) available for PrestaShop v1.0.

Lots of new features have been implemented since this thread was started 3 months ago, including a snappy new default storefront design.

Real X Cart Presta indeed looks impressive. The competition in the shopping cart area has intensified greatly, which I guess is good for the users (us).
Still, I'd look for some traction with real-world implementations before jumping over to try a new cart. Developer support is also crucial.
