IconLover gets updated to version 5.38. This new release receives the ability to import vector images, supports super-size Mac OS X and introduces masking support for raster images. New visual effects allow combining icons and objects, making it easier to create perfectly flat 2D icons.
IconLover 5.38 can import vector images in SVG, AI and PDF formats, rendering raster icons of any size. The rendering algorithm is also improved compared to the earlier release, with smoother images and less jagged edges in small-size icons.
Last-generation Retina displays put higher demands on high-resolution graphics. Mac OS X can use super-high resolution icons sized up to 1024x1024. IconLover 5.38 can now edit high-resolution images of up to 1024x1024 pixels. IconLover 5.38 allows you to simply pick Mac OS X icon sizes instead of entering them manually.
In this release, we added a number of visual effects aimed at the creation of perfectly flat 2D icons. The new effects allow combining objects from different images into a single icon while keeping (or removing) the original background. The new options are:
• Merge with Background Image
• Overlay Image
• Subtract Image
• Subtract from Image
We introduced a number of small changes to the user interface, and made a few minor improvements.
