POCode

POCode, a web application in Startup phase, is an 8 to 12 alphanumeric code (e.g. USA#2U775) that defines a particular location anywhere on this planet and can be used for identifying a particular location. The POCode idea came about somewhere in the year 2011 when we were to a certain extent frustrated with certain GPS units. We were trying to locate places that was extremely tedious to do on our GPS units. We then felt like kicking ourselves in the butt for not having a physical map on hand. Things got worse when we could not get hold of our customer who had just moved office to this new location, and thus we lost the sale. After the ordeal, we decided that a map is very important at least to give us an idea of where the location is and what we should expect to see as we make our way there. This means that a GPS unit is not enough. With that in mind we created POCode but that is not all. While playing around with POCode in the beta stages we found that users wanted more information such as coordinates, a place to embed photos that helps to make recognizing a place easier, and also a way to ask for directions. These have all been added into POCode.
