Mozbot
A Google Enhanced Search Engine
Mozbot shows exactly the same results as Google.
Whilst Mozbot uses the same results as Google, it also adds a number functions that we think our users will find useful.
On the homepage:
- Default search mode is the english web (whilst google.com searches the worldwide web by default).
- Searches in your languages are limited by default to one language (English) with the option of adding other languages in preferences.
- Option of selecting which search domain (in english or in your languages) is the default setting for the engine.
On the results pages:
- Definition of search term displayed – if one exists – thanks to data supplied by our partner L’Aventure Multimedia.
- Related words displayed – if available: spelling correction, synonyms, similar expressions, etc.
- Reminder of the last 20 searches made by the user (function can be deactivated).
- Page thumbnails displayed when you move the mouse over the title of a result (this function is deactivated by default and can be activated in preferences).
- “Info” link providing information – if available – on the site’s owner, address, contact details, screen thumbnail, etc.
- “Add to favorites” link that lets you add a page proposed in the results to your navigator’s favorites (functions with Internet Explorer and Firefox).
- “Exclude this site” link that lets you eliminate a site from your future searches. See the advance search section for more information.
- “Send by mail” link that lets you send the search result to a friend by e-mail.
- “History” link that either shows the page in the Google cache (the version of the page as it was when the Google spider analyzed it) or the version stored by the site Archive.org.
- “Similar pages” link proposing, when they exist, documents of a similar type to those in the results.
- Statistics: the number of times the search terms were requested on Mozbot during the previous month is shown on the bottom of the page.
