TapNotify

Splinkware Apps recently released a free iPhone app to make it easier for friends and family to stay connected, taking advantage of location-based capabilities built into iPhones. The app is called TapNotify (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tap-notify/id519524126?mt=8). A single tap sends a short txt message (or email) with your current location to a default contact. TapNotify addresses an unmet need to greatly simplify - down to one tap - sending a short, targeted message that includes location information. TapNotify V1.0 was released April 22, 2012. TapNotify V1.1 with additional features and enhancements is planned for May 2012. Other location-based apps are planned (free and paid). Ability to set a preferred contact and message type (txt or email) Five configurable canned message buttons (such as "I'm leaving now.", "I've arrived safely.", "I just landed.", etc. Automatically includes a txt message friendly short URL to your location along with a reverse geocode to provide city, state information Easy setup - just choose a preferred contact and it is a single "tap" to "notify" a friend or family member Very positive early customer reviews (average 5 stars) TapNotify screen shots of the app are provided.
