WeatherHop provides customizable severe weather notifications to both business and consumers. The service provides notifications via voice, SMS, email, social, and API. Alerts are customizable by weather type (tornado, thunderstorm, flood, winter) as well as the type of notification. WeatherHop only notifies you if your location is directly in the path of the storm. Other providers warn you if a storm is in your county - even if it is already past your location or poses no immediate threat. It's free to sign up and have alerts pushed to your Facebook wall or Twitter feed. Paid plans start at just $2.99/mo and provide access to set up voice, email, SMS, and API based alerts. The service is built on top of other cloud-based providers such as Twilio and SendGrid to provide a fast, reliable, and scalable solution.
