Melt A fun little iPhone app to...
Review posted Mon 20 May '13  ·  6 comments

I'm not sure why I really like Melt...but I do. After all, there's really nothing that's particularly groundbreaking about this social photo and messaging application for iOS. It might be the fact that it has a very cool name or it might be the very minimalistic qualities of its simple interface. Or it might well be that it's just the place to get your favorite photos vindicated, liked and commented on. While, of course, we can always post our interesting photos on Facebook or any number of other social networks, there's no guarantee that your blaze friends will acknowledge them. ... Read more

Turn your Facebook updates, photos and memories into a real-life coffee table book

Likebook My life in a book
Review posted Tue 14 May '13  ·  15 comments

It seems kind of ironic to even contemplate turning Facebook into a coffee table book. After all, the most successful social media experiment in history has effectively replaced paper in many cases - especially when it comes to photo sharing. But, how about if I said to you that you could have a beautiful coffee table book filled with all your status updates and photos from your Facebook history. Would you think I was mad? Well, that is exactly what Likebook is. You can have your Likebook - in soft or hard cover - delivered quickly to your door and ... Read more

Get locals to tell you what's good through social networks

Sooligan You're not a hooligan, you're...
Review posted Thu 9 May '13  ·  13 comments

I have a friend who runs a cafe locally and I checked out the online reviews for the place the other day. They varied from ultra-complimentary (probably written by themselves) to ultra-critical (probably written by people from rival cafes.) To be quite honest, it didn't tell me much about the place. The whole concept of reviews needs to be thrown back on the people that matter most - customers - and Sooligan is a social review site with a difference. It takes it's 'reviews' from the comments on the pages of social media to give you a much broader overview ... Read more

What if someone had offered free Facebook shares way back then?

GlobAllShare: Social Network of the future The best way to earn and share
Review posted Tue 30 Apr '13  ·  14 comments

If somebody had asked you to get involved with an online social network called Facebook all those years ago do you think you would have taken it any further? If you did, of course, you would probably be sitting pretty right now. So if a new social network was about to start up that has something new to offer and offered you the chance to get involved during the pre-organizational stage, would you be interested? You'd be crazy not to look at it. GlobAllShare claims to be the future of social networking. It also offers the chance for early subscribers ... Read more

Get those ads and game invites out of your Facebook feed

Review posted Fri 26 Apr '13  ·  1 comment

There has been much rumbling from Facebook users of late concerning how much they dislike the volume of advertising that has encroached onto their news feeds. I've even had one friend saying that she reports each one as spam whenever they crop up. In reality, it's probably inevitable considering the billion dollars that Mr Zuckerberg reportedly shelled out for Instagram last year. But now we have an app that completely redesigns your Facebook Timeline so that the only things you see are the news, photos and status updates of your friends. Installing Coverfeed for Facebook means you won't be subjected ... Read more

A few months ago we ran a review on a very good business fan page application called Cool Mojito that rapidly became one of our favorite apps of the year. It enabled the user to create very handsome and effective advertising fan pages using a wonderfully easy step-by-step method. Now those same developers have taken the marketing concept one step further with this superb set of marketing and promotion tools that provide you with everything you need to start up and run a very powerful advertising campaign that is perfect for small business and the adventurous entrepreneur.   Studies show ... QuotesCover Create a strong message...
Review posted Sun 14 Apr '13  ·  10 comments

A friend of mine recently made the comment that he was amazed that so many of his friends were 'ardent philosophers' given the amount of life affirming memes and quotations that they were posting these days. A little cynical perhaps, but there's no doubt that many of us have taken to using other people's words to try to find the appropriate ways to express our thoughts. Quotes Cover takes that concept one step further by providing the whole package of quotes, graphics and typography so you to create beautiful, wordy art to illustrate your social network page.   It seems ... PayWithMe Simplifying Group Payments
Review posted Wed 3 Apr '13  ·  11 comments

When you are the guy who has volunteered to collect the money for a group or team event it's not always a pleasant thing. There's always one or two that lag behind the rest when its time to pay up but you're the one who comes across as the bad guy. It's not fair.
