MeetMusic Musicians around you
Review posted Tue 1 Apr '14

It wasn't too many years ago that, if you were a musician, you could rock up to any number of pubs or bars with your instrument and find a whole bunch of other cool musicians to play or jam with. The downturn in the economy and the introduction of distractions like poker machines put paid to that in many cities around the world but there are still plenty of places where it is still possible to strap on the guitar and rock it out with the best of em. MeetMusic is a cool, free music application for iOS and Android ... Read more

Review posted Wed 26 Mar '14

When I was in my teens I went to so many gig sit is hard to remember them all but there was a period there of a year or so where I listed every single band that I saw in a diary. I think it came to about 385 if I remember rightly. I wish I had kept that diary. You'd have to spend a small fortune to see that many bands these days with current gig prices. I guess the modern day equivalent of that is the 'rave' music scene but, with so many punters being under the influence ... Read more

An iconic board game joins the digital age

The Power Game It's Your Turn
Review posted Sat 22 Feb '14  ·  4 comments

The 1970's was a heady time for board games. It was the time before the Taiwanese revolutionized the games business by inventing hand held computer game in the early 80's and flooded the market with them and pretty well annihilated the board game. But it was back in those days that Irish inventor Brian McCarthy came up with the idea for this wonderfully innovative board game while on a plane trip. He wanted to invent a game that could be a competitor to chess but was far less complicated. So he came up with the very original "Power Game" and ... Read more

Review posted Sat 18 Jan '14  ·  188 comments

There's a great temptation for new app developers to take a huge sigh of relief when they have got their app out there 'on the shelf,' so to speak. Many think that all the hard work has been done and its now time to reap the benefits. But, of course, it doesn't end there. How do you find out how your visitors perceive your app. Do they like it and see everything that you have to offer? Do they use it how it was intended? Where are the problems that might mean your visitors not returning? Appsee is an iOS ... Read more

More background checks, tighter regulations and cooling off periods have all been suggested to try to curb the alarming number of gun related shootings around the world. It wasn't so long ago that everything surrounding an event you were attending would be shrouded in reams and reams of paper, books, pamphlets and even the occasional DVD to keep you up to date with everything that was going on. But, let's face it. The only good thing about that would be the free bag that housed all your paperwork...and the free pen. You might even get a baseball cap, if you were lucky. These days, it's all changed. Apps are the things that inform and engage attendees in this day and age...and they are getting slicker and smarter. ... Read more
