A social network for creatives with more than fifty shades of grey

MinaGrey Creative Gets Smart, Smart...
Review posted Sun 1 Jun '14

Don't panic, MinaGrey is not the follow up to Fifty Shades of Grey! It's far more worthy to me than that poorly written piece of fluff. Let me just say from the outset here. This free, art and writing application is unlike any other app that we've seen before here at the FeedMyApp offices. I guess the best way to describe it is would be as a non-commercial artistic and creative community where musicians, artists, writers and scientists can freely share ideas, concepts and their artistic skills with the rest of the world. It's a social network - run by ... Read more

The $156 million dollar artist that many have never heard of

My-Guide to Gustav Klimt An Android app meant as a...
Review posted Sat 3 May '14

valuable painting in the world a few years ago, it turned the art world on it’s head. The reason for this was that it wasn't painted by Van Gogh, Picasso, Rembrandt or even Bacon. It was a painting by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt and it catapulted this lesser known artist into the big league. However, his work is still not appreciated anywhere near enough outside the critics and his loyal fans. My Guide to Gustav Klimt is a beautiful looking Android art application that offers an appreciation of this great artist's work that has been put together by long ... Read more

The perfect app for news junkies

ClipWiz Watch all your favorite news...
Review posted Sat 15 Mar '14

Here's one for all you news junkies out there like me. ClipWiz is a brand new and rather unique news and entertainment application for iOS that lets you better organize and simplify your video news watching. It takes the concept of the humble TV guide to put all your favorite news channels at your disposal in a timeline and based on your viewing habits. Rather than having to painstakingly search the Internet for the latest news or switch between your favorite channels, ClipWiz lines them all up for you to watch as they happen - and all in one much ... Review posted Mon 13 Jan '14  ·  54 comments

For some reason, there is a problem with most art related online apps and websites. Basically, most look rather pitiful. I can only assume that they are put together by the artists themselves who have no idea how the online audience views them. I guess they use the other side of their brain. So, when a beautiful online art gallery like The Ether Gallery comes along and features a bunch of extremely talented artists and sculptors - it could be time to sit up and take notice. Take your time, relax and click your way through an array of inspiring ... Read more

Review posted Tue 26 Nov '13  ·  825 comments

Anyone who designs things for a living will be able to attest to the fact that often the hardest part of the design process is coming up with the original concept in the first place. After that it’s reasonably plain sailing. Web designers often search through pages and pages of images and designs in magazines and on the internet looking for inspiration to spark an idea. But there is so much information out there that it can become time-consuming trying to find the visual images to inspire them. DesignFaves is a photo, architecture, art and design application for the creative ... Read more

A step by step guide to help you write your first novel

Now Novel Write your novel, period.
Review posted Tue 1 Oct '13  ·  1534 comments

It wasn't that long ago that I had an idea to write my first novel. I was fascinated with the concept of so many celebrities dying at the age of 27 (check it out...I'm serious) and I was thinking f a way of weaving the idea into a credible story. Needless to say, the idea of typing the whole thing out and working out various plot lines with little or no blueprint to work from got to me and the project got put on the back burner. The next thing I know, I'm casually doing an Internet search on '27' ... Read more

Design inspiration when you've hit the wall

New Design Inspiration A Source of Design Inspiration
Review posted Sat 24 Aug '13  ·  1759 comments

I'm sure any of you designers out there will know only too well that great design is all about the initial inspiration for a project. There is little more satisfying than visualizing a finished image in your head of how the end project is going to look. When that inspiration is there, all is good and all tends to run smoothly, but there is little more frustrating for a designer when it doesn't. Maybe you are stumped for a logo for your project or some type of illustration to make it more eye catching? So, what do you do when ... Read more

Watch thousands of full length movies for free on YouTube

MovieFork Watch Full movies on youtube
Review posted Sat 20 Jul '13  ·  38 comments

It's not known much by many people but there are actually a whole heap of full length movies hidden away on YouTube. I say that they are hidden away but that's not really true of course. The fact is, they are there but most people don't know how to find them unless they happen to stumble across them during a search. MovieFork is a movie application that gives you a completely searchable database of all the movies in the YouTube system. And we are not talking about trashy BGrade movies, either. MovieFork features some really unusual films as well as ... Read more

A social community for all sides of the art business

MyArtPlot All-in-one empowerment...
Review posted Fri 28 Jun '13  ·  162 comments

Most of the art portals that are to be seen as apps have tended to be rather staid looking affairs that cater purely for the collector. So, it's probably about time that somebody thought about adding a more social element to things and making a place for artists, dealers, potential buyers and agents to all feel at home in. MyArtPlot is such a thing! An art and craft app for creatives of all  types. No flashy gimmicks or groovy graphics. This is an app that exists to be the portal between all aspects of the art industry and makes it ... Read more
