Mevoked Feel the Internet
Review posted Wed 12 Sep '12

The Internet is a weird evolving object that springs up more than a few surprises. People can be even weirder. If you have read any Malcolm Gladville you will be well aware of the organized chaos that we live in. Take social networks for example. I remember a friend telling me not long after Facebook's inception to "just sign up" and it wasn't that long before its reputation grew and the "Tipping Point" was reached. Now it is getting close to a billion users and everyone from cute Kentucky girls to Sherpas in Tibet seems to have an account. Add ... Read more

Loc.Book Remember all the important...
Review posted Mon 3 Sep '12

Look, I have to tell you, Loc.Book was undoubtedly developed with people like me in mind. It's not that I get lost on a regular basis but, put me in one of those massive Westfield type multilevel shopping complexes that was probably designed by that Gruen fellow, and I'm a complete mess. Half the time I can't even remember which floor the shop I want to visit is on let alone it's location. I could use the store locator, I guess, but I could also use an app like Loc.Book to find my way back directly to the store I'm ... Read more

Review posted Thu 30 Aug '12

when.me is a schedule and reminder application for mobile that will ensure that you and your friends will never forget an event again, that's for sure. So why is it different to all the other scheduling apps available? Well, when.me adds a social element to proceedings and can even use Facebook and Twitter to give you a constant reminder of events you might want to get involved in with your friends. You can track your friends' future plans and add photos (before and after the event, if you like.) In reality, when.me acts as a virtual calendar where you can ... Read more

Why didn't Netflix think of this 'coming soon' feature?

StreamThing Find out when movies you love...
Review posted Fri 24 Aug '12

I always find it amusing when someone sees a hole in the market and comes up with an app for something we all know should have been included in the service in the first place. I guess Instagram is a classic example - if Facebook had its photo uploading shit together it wouldn't have to have forked out 100 million big ones for a simple photo app. StreamThing is the simplest idea for an app. It tells you when movies and tv shows that you want to see are due to be shown on Netflix instant streaming. Now why didn't ... Read more

PresentationTube is a new video presentation application that seems to have caused a bit of a stir since its recent inception. It's a non-profit app for teachers, educators and students that enables the making and use of instructional video presentations and provides all the tools needed to do it. There are just two components to PresentationTube - a desktop video recorder and a network for sharing your videos on. However, it does also provide an array of tools and visual aids to pep up your work including Power Point slides and drawing boards.   PresentationTube encourages teachers and students to ... A cool flipbook mashup for your flip videos

FlipFilmer flipbook your videos
Review posted Sat 11 Aug '12  ·  1 comment

You know what a Flip film is don't you? It's a very short home made film that hopefully has a little artistic merit going for it. And how about a digital flipbook? That's  one of those cool and classy online books that you can flip through with your fingers - rather like the way you would flip through a regular paper book. One of the most beautiful apps that illustrates the flipbook concept is Flipboard, of course, which won App of the Year a couple of years back. There are plenty of flipbooks available for your photos but there are ... Read more
