Hearth Harmonize your home
Review posted Fri 11 Dec '15

Given the high price of rental residences in major cities it's hardly surprising that there are more and more share houses these days with several people splitting the cost of the rent and household expenses. In many cases, the first time they meet each other is when they move in - especially when we are talking about student accommodation. It's all good fun at first. Parties every night and new friends to get to know. But then comes the crunch when the place starts to get dirty and one person ends up doing most of the cleaning and another gets ... Read more

Power Passage The best Bible passages for...
Review posted Mon 7 Dec '15

Religion in general gets a pretty bad rap these days, doesn't it? Some say that it's on the decline. While a recent Gallop survey suggests that 40% of Americans go to church on the weekends, figures from the church itself put that figure at closer to 20%. That doesn't make it any less relevant to the way of life of millions of people around the world, though. I think it was comedian Steve Martin who said in the film "Grand Canyon" that "the answer to all life's problems are in the movies." Well, to many, the answer to all of ... Read more

Review posted Sun 18 Jan '15

The debate between kindle readers and physical paper book readers has raged for a few years now and avid readers seem to have divided into one or the other. Ebook readers love the ease and simplicity of reading a book on their kindle without having shelf loads of books cluttering up their homes while paper book readers love the pure pleasure of holding a book in their hands rather than a piece of plastic. Personally, I think the kindle has a fair way to go to fulfill its obvious potential. However, there is another way of 'reading' books that seems ... Read more

Review posted Mon 8 Sep '14

Have a look around you. I bet you have a ton of stuff that works perfectly well and yet you don't use very much - if at all. Most households are the same. We've all got useful stuff that is just taking up space in our homes. Your nextdoor neighbor or the family down the road probably have the same situation. The fact is, when we need something like a circular saw or a bicycle or a microwave, we just go out and buy a new one rather than asking if our neighbors have one that we can buy or ... Read more

Know your Bitcoins!

Coinnext Cryptocurrency Exchange
Review posted Sun 11 May '14

There has been much newspaper and TV talk recently about alternative online cryptocurrencies and how they fare in modern society. Bitcoin is one that has been heavily featured as the potential leader of the bunch but even that has been treated with mistrust and confusion as people struggle to get their heads around the concept of non-traditional, non-folding money. The fact is, however, that more and more online (and non-online) companies are finding it a very convenient way of paying and being paid for goods and services. Coinnext is an online cryptocurrency exchange that facilitates the buying and selling of ... Read more

A fully portable autism aid for when you are on the go

Words in Pictures App for autistic children
Review posted Thu 6 Mar '14

According to Wikipedia, Autism is defined as ' a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and verbal and non-verbal communication and by restricted, repetitive or stereotypical behavior.' Sufferers, more often than not young children, regularly have trouble understanding concepts that can generally only be solved using pictures to back up vocabulary and diligent parents will spend hours at home setting up image cards to help kids understand better, the world that they live in. A year or so back, an Italian developer - aided by a team of neuropsychiatrists, speech therapists, educators and parents from all over ... Read more

Turn your iPad into a fire alarm when you are away from home

FirstFireAlert Just a dollar to safeguard...
Review posted Sat 26 Oct '13

The iPad has really come of age over the last couple of years. When it started off it was really only promoted as a fun piece of entertainment. Then it transformed the kids game market with absolute user-friendliness for younger users. It then turned into a very useful business tool - to the point where you could virtually run your whole organization from it. Now we see the iPad as a device to safeguard your home. No, I don't mean by turning it into a virtual guard dog (though I'm sure there is an app for that.) FirstFireAlert is a ... Read more
