Poking, squeezing and smelling things - groceries and eating under control

Ziplist Managing your grocery list...
Review posted Thu 15 Dec '11

I have to say when I first happened upon this one I had one immediate thought; since when has grocery shopping been a whole family event? I’m kind of glad I looked a bit deeper into it though because it does have some great features that go beyond just sharing a shopping list with the rest of your hungry crew. Sad that I am to admit it I’m a guy who not only enjoys cooking but also enjoys cruising the aisles of grocery stores poking and squeezing and smelling things. This app will help you indulge in both of those activities and ... Read more

Sprout Robot

SproutRobot Grow your groceries
Review posted Wed 14 Dec '11

Here’s a topical one. You can’t watch a cookery programme these days without the celebrity chef banging on about the pleasure of growing your own fruit and veg. As if he actually gets down and dirty with a spade and a hoe! He’ll be too busy in make-up or signing his latest recipe book. It does however have a certain charm about it but for people of a certain age it’s something that your dad did. Add to that the likelihood that he learnt the skill from his dad and you start to get the picture; why did I never ask ... Read more

I remember as a kid writing long stories with a fountain pen, adding a few drawings and then binding all the sheets of paper together in brown parcel paper tied down the middle with wool. I was an author at eight years old and nobody was going to tell me any different! It’s funny but I never sold any copies but my mother still has them in a box somewhere and they come out now and again when the subject of me writing for a living comes up, bless! Get the kids reading and writing with comic book fun

Comic Master Create your own comic!
Review posted Sat 10 Dec '11

Well there are certainly some fun ways to get youngsters reading and writing these days and if this one doesn’t get them hooked then I don’t know what will. It could be quite a laugh to use as an adult too if you want to get a point across in a comic style. The mechanics are simple and once you log in you are taken on a step-by step guide to creating a comic strip page complete with characters and text. The first thing you have to do is choose the layout of your page from a selection of boxes and once ... Eggzy Know Your Food!
Review posted Tue 29 Nov '11

Well I knew there would be an app out there for just about everything but I hadn’t banked on chickens! Still, with the whole world now keen to source local produce and worried about food miles this one is certainly trying to do its bit when it comes to egg production and distribution. Read more

Restaurant reservations tool

Eat Text Restaurant Text Messaging
Review posted Mon 28 Nov '11

I’m not sure about some of the functions on this one. Whilst I can see the merits of a few I can see the at least one of them causing some confusion amongst restaurant staff as well as diners. As a reservation management system and customer reporting tool it looks to have all of the bases covered to enable business owners to monitor diner volumes and cancellations. It could also be a useful marketing tool. Read more

Pandamian The Easiest Way To Publish...
Review posted Mon 28 Nov '11  ·  1 comment

It used to be the case that the poor beleaguered novelist out there had to jump through the odd hoop and find a publisher in order to release their masterwork. Not only would it mean another roadblock on the path to glory but it would also mean a percentage of the takings being sliced off. However, the plethora of 'publish your own book' sites that have cropped up over the last few years has begun to change the way it works. Pandamian is a writing and book tool that acts as your publisher by covering all the techical and background ... Read more

Review posted Fri 25 Nov '11  ·  3 comments

Any restaurant worth their salt these days has a website (excuse the pun) and there are enough good reasons for that. People hardly buy anything these days without first checking it out on the internet and where to eat is no exception.Anybody travelling any distance to a town or city, maybe for the first time, is also very likely to surf around prior to departure for an establishment that caters both for their taste and their budget (sorry, another pun!).Whether you run a simple diner or hanker after a more fine dining clientele then ezfoodie.com can provide you with a great looking website with all ... BookStep Read Textbooks Online
Review posted Mon 14 Nov '11

Most students seem to meet have a money problem. There's never enough of it. Then there's the money that has to be paid back later. It all adds up. So when it comes to the text books you need to buy for your course it can easily turn into a big problem. You pay a lot of money for them, use them a little bit and then try to sell them back. It would be so much better if you could rent the chapters you want. BookStep is a textbook tool based in the cloud that let's you access the ... Read more
