Simple, interactive and beautiful code sharing that wont cost you a penny

CodePile Easily share Piles of code
Review posted Wed 18 Nov '15

The first thing I should come clean about regarding the sharing of codes is that I'm really no expert on the subject. However, i have done a fair bit of research in the last few days and one thing is certain. While it looks incredibly complicated, it seems that it's a hell of a lot easier when you have the right tools to do the job. There are plenty of code sharing apps on the market - Github, Pastebin, Pastie, Bitbucket and Google Code are the obvious ones. Some of these offer a simple cut and paste option and some ... A new way to meet friends and find out what's going on around you

AskMob Ask, Share and Meet People...
Review posted Tue 6 Oct '15

A while back we reviewed a crowd-sourcing app called InAWord Reviews that asked people from all over the world their opinions on everything from movies to restaurants in just a word or two. Now here’s an app that takes the completely opposite approach to information gathering. Rather than reaching out to the world in general, AskMob is a new social tracking app for iOS and Android that concentrates on the people directly around you. It aims to find out what people in your local area are thinking about and what they are getting up to but only deals with people ... Read more

An intelligent email management tool that automatically cleans up your inbox

SaneBox A Better Email Experience.
Review posted Thu 17 Sep '15

Email has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the years. When the email revolution really took hold in the '90s, people initially held it in suspicion. The advent of email spamming over the following years just seemed to compound that fear. To the point that people were reluctant to even hand out their email addresses for fear of being inundated with viruses and unwanted advertising. Thankfully, things have moved on since then and email is now a viable alternative to regular post for getting information out there to individuals or organizations. Now we receive hundreds and sometimes thousands ... Read more

A few years ago I had a friend who had been laboriously plotting a story that he hoped might be taken up as a tv series. He kept it tucked away on his mobile device and worked on it diligently for over a year. I contacted him again a couple of years later after I'd seen the pilot episode of a new series because the plot line bore a remarkable resemblance to his own. He told me that he'd seen the episode and put two and two together and worked out that, while he'd been at a writers’ workshop, he'd ... Read more

The simplest way to sync your friends when organizing an event

Rozta Sync up your friends
Review posted Fri 4 Sep '15

If you have been the unlucky person who has been put in charge of organizing a large group event online in the past you will probably know how much of a pain in the ass it can be. Just trying to get all the information you need to ascertain who is attending and getting their individual requirements together often involves several attempts to clarify the situation. Most people will use a site like Facebook to get people to commit but the only three options to the question 'are you attending?' are 'yes,' 'no' and 'maybe.' It's hardly the most comprehensive ... Review posted Wed 19 Aug '15

I think it was Steve Martin who said in the Grand Canyon movie, "The answer to all of life's problems are in the movies." There are a lot of movies out there so I'm sure that's true in general but I don't think any movie has offered up a remedy for world peace just yet. I think we all agree that the big problems can be very difficult to solve but smaller ones might have a chance...given the right advice. Ask The Guides: Success is an entertaining, interactive oracle reading app for iOS that allows the user to ask any ... Read more

Free cloud collaboration that is so secure that even Governments use it

Ribose Collaborate in the cloud with...
Review posted Thu 6 Aug '15

When I first spoke about the concept of cloud computing to a friend in the business in England a few years ago, we both knew that there was one thing that stood in the way - security. While it was possible to offer cheap and reliable cloud collaboration, how could customers be 100% sure that their private and confidential data was 100% secure? Well, this could well be the answer to those sceptics. Ribose is a free, cloud-based, social collaboration app that connects you with friends, family, fellow-workers and communities whilst adhering to the highest possible security levels to ensure ... Review posted Tue 21 Jul '15

For quite a few years now, businesses have been using HipChat as a communication method so that their teams can keep in touch with each other wherever they are in the world. It's basically a web service for internal private chat and instant messaging but also features cloud based file storage, video calling, searchable message history and inline image viewing. Of late, there have been several other services that have jumped on board with similar models. The most popular of these newbies has been Slack. Both services are great at keeping teams connected whether they be in Kathmandu, Chicago or ... Read more

MailDroid - Free Email App MailDroid is your IMAP Idle...
Review posted Wed 24 Jun '15

If you are an Android user you are probably reasonably content with the excellent inbuilt email system. But, while there's nothing wrong with it, there are definitely times when you might need email management that has a bit more clout. This will be particularly useful if you use your phone for business and especially if you have multiple email accounts. MailDroid is a free email app for Android that supports an unlimited number of email accounts whether they be from IMAP servers, cloud mail servers or the usual free email servers like Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and Gmail etc. Read more
