They reckon that all those movie directors like Spielberg, Lucas and Scorsese cut their teeth by making short films with their Super 8 cameras. They would get their friends to act out scenes and amaze their parents and friends at film night when they showed their editing prowess with a finished film that took them ages to make. It makes it all the more impressive when you look at an app like this one. KineMaster is a fabulously fast and responsive video-editing app for Android that gives you a virtual film-editing suite at your fingertips. It is the only app ... Read more

The word Selfie was named 'word of the year' by the Oxford Dictionaries recently - it didn't go down very well with a lot of people. The words that it was in contention with at the end were "binge-watch, " "twerk" and "showrooming" - none of which set the world on fire...well, maybe twerking is pretty cool (isn't it Miley?) Funnily enough, the word selfie was apparently first coined by a student in Australia who labelled his photo with that name after he'd fallen over, split his lip and posted a picture of his faceonline. So what's that got to ... Read more

Now Novel Write your novel, period.
Review posted Tue 1 Oct '13  ·  1534 comments

It wasn't that long ago that I had an idea to write my first novel. I was fascinated with the concept of so many celebrities dying at the age of 27 (check it out...I'm serious) and I was thinking f a way of weaving the idea into a credible story. Needless to say, the idea of typing the whole thing out and working out various plot lines with little or no blueprint to work from got to me and the project got put on the back burner. The next thing I know, I'm casually doing an Internet search on '27' ... Read more

Now imagine how difficult it must be when some of your team members are scattered over different areas of the country or on the other side of the world.   Sqwiggle is a video workroom that is always turned on ... So many of us are using our smartphones and tablets far more than we do our personal and work computers these days. With the advances in technology for those devices moving at such a rapid rate over the last couple of years their popularity has soared. In fact, with the aid of a good wifi and a few apps, they can almost become a second computer. But there are still some things on your computer that you can't view on your device unless you are prepared to use cumbersome and time consuming methods. AirStream is an app that lets you ...
