I'm sure most of us have someone around us who has some sort of trouble in sleeping at night. It's a very common problem that can be caused by any number of things from stress to simple teeth grinding. Many feel like they just have to put up with it and some will consult with their doctor and be subscribed a course of treatment that involves medication. Unfortunately, this could lead to a few side effects involving drowsiness and lack of clarity. Many swear by an exercise regime and eating oatmeal at night - a natural alternative that works for ... I don't usually take a whole heap of notice of weather apps, to be honest. I mean, they are literally only going to tell you a few things. How hot or cold it is, whether there is some form of precipitation and how windy it is. There's not a whole lot more you need to know. But occasionally, an app comes along that transcends basic information because of its sheer beauty and Idol Forecast is one of those. It is a customizable weather app for iOS that features the most glorious 'Disney-quality' animated graphics that change as the weather changes. ... Read more

Being a bit of a news junkie myself, I always sit up and take notice when there's a release of a new news application on the market. With our lives tending to be bombarded by sound clips versions of the real story on tv and radio, it is important for many to access news and views from as many different sources as possible in order to stay ahead of the game and know just what is going on out there in the real world. B24 RSS News Feed is a free news aggregator where you can gather a world of ... Read more
If I said the words clipart to you the chances are you going to flip the page and have a look t something else. Clip art apps and sites are 'two-a-penny' aren't they? Just Google one and you will find pretty well what you are looking for straight away. Some will be free and some will require a royalty fee to be paid. Most people aren't keen on the idea of paying for clipart so there is a lot of potential for an app like this one. i2Clipart is an online sharing network that lets users create, share and download ... I'll never forget watching the excellent Jodie Foster directed film Little Man Tate and hearing the boy's analysis of Vincent Van Gogh's painting 'Irises.' When asked why the Dutch impressionist master had painted just one white iris in a sea of blue ones, he said simply "because he was lonely" and that changed my whole perception of the painting and I fell in love with his art forever. Van Gogh Art Essentials for iOS brings art to the app store with this virtual museum of Vincent's work that contains hundreds of his masterpieces in high definition as well as detailed ... Read more
Given the amount of dithering around that Instagram has done since its acquisition by Facebook, it was really only a matter of time till someone came up with a credible alternative. However, rather than some 'new kid on the block' coming along to try and steal the almost iconic photosharing app's thunder, it is an old foe that has re-emerged. For all you newbies, Hipstamatic was the bees-knees before the Instagram revolution took hold and here it introduces its own photo sharing app for iOS known as Oggl (as in 'oggling' at photos, I guess.) This simple to use and ... Read more
There was a period in my life in my teens when I listened to The Doors album LA Woman every day for a year or so. It's a long story so I won't bore you with the reasons but, to this day, I know every single musical nuance of that record. So it a pleasant surprise to see this new official iPad app being released by their record company, Warner Brothers, and compiled by their former boss - Jac Holzman. The Doors App is a music application that was put together by Holzman while he was gathering material and readying ... Read more
Despite the fact that ebooks have taken off to the extent that Amazon's ebooks now sell more digital books than paper ones, I still feel that there is something missing with the format. It's just not the same as picking up a book and reading it from cover-to-cover. The ebook needs to deliver more to convince the rest of us non believers that it has something else to offer besides a kindle. And this iOS application could well be the kind of thing to convince me. Carmilla is a new app by DraculApps (yep, you heard it right) that not ... Read more
