Move into the 21st Century with this next gen lesson planner for teachers of all kinds.

Common Core Lesson Planner Education App of the Year 2013
Review posted Mon 22 Apr '13  ·  1 comment

The image that immediately comes to mind when thinking of planning and preparing teaching lessons is of the kindly teacher, laboriously trudging through large amounts of paper and mapping out the direction of the upcoming lesson. Oh, hang on...that was a Dickens book i was reading. Well, its either that or you can update it to the 20th Century by imagining the same scenario with its modern day equivalent - Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Now it's time to move on from those efficient but bad old days and move into the next generation of lesson planning. Common Core is ... Read more

It seems like a parent's life takes a bit of a  back seat as soon as a child comes along and takes up the majority of their time. Trying to further yourself with classes and courses can turn into a bit of a nightmare. Half the problem isn't necessarily with the harried parent though.  Quite often the problem lies with poor website information and badly organized companies who fail to deliver the information that you need. Nurturize is a new search engine application designed for parents that makes it easier to search and find the classes and courses they need ... Read more

A superior learning management system to evaluate and train your staff

SkyPrep LMS without the Mess
Review posted Tue 19 Mar '13  ·  57 comments

Staff training and evaluation used to be a quite labor-intensive and time consuming activity and generally used to involve bringing in people from outside the business who were trained in the process. This is disruptive for your staff as well as being somewhat costly. While this may be fine for multinationals it doesn't necessarily suit the budget of the smaller organization. SkyPrep is a new cloud-based, online LMS (Learning Management System) application that is designed to train and test your employees simply and easily. Upload all your source material, create tests and discover how your employees understand your business or ... Read more

Show your patients the heart of their problems in 3D

3D InterActive Heart Very First in House app in...
Review posted Sun 17 Mar '13

Back in the bad old days, the doctor would simply tell their patient what was wrong with them, tell them to take their pills and hope they keep quiet. The patient was basically kept out of the process for as long as possible while the doctor got on with their job of curing them. But these days, things are far more open and doctors actively encourage their patients by keeping them 'in the loop' as to their condition. That's easy enough with lungs and broken legs but hearts are a different thing. 3D InterActive Heart is  next generation medical application ... Read more

Review posted Thu 21 Feb '13

Yesterday we reviewed the first edition of a new interactive 3D storybook application called Pilo. Pilo is a beautifully animated and multi award winning iOS app that, while looking great, is a real winner because of its storyline as much as its look. Now comes the second release in the series. Pilo2 still carries the same stunning 3D animation but this time the action is in the form of puzzles, music and more interaction to capture a child's attention. Choose a character, dress them up, play musical instruments and get them to dance just by tapping on them. This multi ... Read more

Scientific source material until it comes out of your ears

Flooved Netflix for TextBooks
Review posted Thu 17 Jan '13  ·  3 comments

Flooved is a social educational application that offers benefits to students, academics and publishers. Eventually, this intelligent app will turn into one of the best and most comprehensive libraries of academic textbooks online but, for the moment, it focusses purely on scientific subjects. It provides all the study material needed for the modern day student with textbooks, past exam papers, theses and video content at your fingertips. But that's not the end of the story.  It also enriches and adds to the learning experience by cross linking relevant topics by chapter and even adds a social side by allowing both ... Read more
