What is your porn name, anyway?

Nomenclature The Science of Naming Things
Review posted Thu 28 Jan '16

I'm sure everyone has, at some point, played the 'what's your porn star name' game. I guess the most popular way of playing it is by using your pet's name as your first name and coupling it with the name of the street that you first lived in as your surname. For me that means I would become Buffy Wellington if I were ever to chance my arm in the porn industry. One thing's for sure, when you add something like alcohol,  it's a game that'll be guaranteed to break the ice at parties and delivers a hell of a ... Read more

More celebrity photos than you can poke a stick at on your iOS device

FirstLook Instant celebrity photos
Review posted Fri 11 Dec '15

Despite the fact that magazines sell a fraction of the amount that they used to during their heyday, there's one mag category that still seems to be holding its own. The celebrity magazines like People, OK, Entertainment Weekly, Star and Who are the mags that are saving the local newspaper shops from going to the dogs. And what's the first page that people turn to when they buy a new edition? The celebrity photos, of course! Kim and Kanye, Taylor Swift, Brad and Angelina, Nicki Minaj, The Bieb, Stephen Curry and LeBron, Coldplay on stage and thousands of others. Well, ... Read more

Great ideas for corporate travel and group adventures with everything under one roof

Truly Visit Free Group Trip planner app...
Review posted Sun 29 Nov '15

If you've ever been the poor sucker who has been put in charge of planning a group trip or organizing corporate travel, I can only have sympathy for you because it can be a hugely time consuming operation. If you're lucky, you have a great travel agent who knows all the deals, all the places to visit and where to get the best tickets for events. Unfortunately, finding one with that much knowledge is not the easiest thing. It doesn't end there either. Even after the trip is over, there are still all the bits and bobs to take care ... Review posted Wed 25 Nov '15

In a recent study, it was found that an astonishing 1.2 billion people are part of the worldwide gaming community with around 700 million playing games online. To cater for these game-aholics, there are a whole heap of wannabe games released every week for your mobile or tablet. Most of them are little more than addictive time wasters that while away a few minutes on your commute to and from work or keep you amused as you lay on the couch in the evening. Sadly, most don't teach you a great deal apart from maybe increasing your reaction time in ... Read more

A simple and effective app to help prevent parking tickets

Parking dot RIP Parking.RIP makes parking...
Review posted Mon 9 Nov '15

Is there anything more frustrating and completely pointless for a motorist than getting a parking fine? We all know that half the time it's simply a revenue earner for the company or local jurisdiction and it doesn't seem to matter too much whether you are one minute or one hour over your time limit. Parking inspectors take little notice and the fine seems to be exactly the same. Parking.RIP is a new GPS based app for Android and iOS that helps in a number of ways and makes parking fines history. Keep up with all your favorite sports in one easy-to-read stream

SEAT77 The Eye of the Sports Fan
Review posted Fri 23 Oct '15

Ahh yes...sports fans! Are there any crazier and more passionate individuals than the folks who follow sport. I think it was Ted Turner who once said that sport was like a war but without the killing and he wasn't far wrong there. A friend of mine in England once told me that, no matter where you are in the world, if you can hold an informed conversation about sport with someone you've only just met, you'll have a friend for life. Fans will scour the Internet to find any information they can about their favorite sporting team but it's pretty ... Read more

Classic old school gameplay for modern devices

Paradot Do you have the balls!
Review posted Tue 29 Sep '15

I went to visit some friends down the coast recently and it occurred to me that the choice of home entertainment goes down big time as soon as one gets away from the city. We played a few games of cards before someone pulled out a peg solitaire game and that was it for the rest of the evening. I'd forgotten how wonderfully addictive and entertaining it was. I guess there was a little bit of synchronicity involved when I came across this entertaining puzzle game for iOS that bears some basic similarities. Paradot is a minimalistic retro style action ... Easier and a heck of a lot more fun than just rolling dice

CritDice Easier than rolling real dice.
Review posted Wed 9 Sep '15

Not being much of a game playing kind of guy, I winced a little bit when I first looked at this dice roller app. I mean, unless you love dice games, what is there to say about them? They roll, they score, that's it! Why do you need an app for that? You may just as well use real dice, right? Well, how wrong can one be? CritDice really is a whole lot of fun and already I'd much rather use this Android app to roll dice than the real thing. This free game for smartphones and tablets makes rolling ... Read more

Review posted Mon 7 Sep '15

You might have seen a review that FeedMyApp ran recently for an iOS app called Notes Lock. It secured all your notes, recorded conversations and your private thoughts so that prying eyes wouldn't be able to get to them. Folder Lock Advanced is kind of an expanded version of that for both Android, iPhone and iPad that takes security one step further to protect and lock your personal folders, files, photos, apps, videos, notes, wallet and any other kind of data that you need to keep secure. This release is actually an updated and far more advanced version of the ... Read more

A few years ago I had a friend who had been laboriously plotting a story that he hoped might be taken up as a tv series. He kept it tucked away on his mobile device and worked on it diligently for over a year. I contacted him again a couple of years later after I'd seen the pilot episode of a new series because the plot line bore a remarkable resemblance to his own. He told me that he'd seen the episode and put two and two together and worked out that, while he'd been at a writers’ workshop, he'd ... Read more
