An easy-to-use app to filter out the ads, data and tracking mechanisms from your mobile

Peace of Mind - Ad and Content Blocker Relaxed browsing without ads...
Review posted Sun 27 Dec '15

While I can totally see the need for developers to have ads, data and tracking mechanisms built into their websites, it doesn't make it any less a pain in the ass for the viewer. Not only could there be a possible breach of security involved but unwanted ads and data uses up precious bandwidth and slows down your speed of service. It's even worse when viewing on your mobile because the screen is smaller and bandwidth is even more limited. The aptly named Peace of Mind is a privacy and security app for iOS that is an easy way to ... Read more

The development of email over the years hasn't really kept up with the rest of the messaging industry. Whereas most online communication technology is geared towards a mobile world, email tends to leave many of us still sitting behind our PC in order to perform some essential management services. Even then, many of the actions we take are just not necessary. We seem to spend an awful lot of time creating folders and diligently filtering messages into them even though we rarely ever need to refer back to them. Now there's a new conditional forwarding email filter that gives greater ... Read more

I don't think I need to tell you that we live in a time of cybercrime. It's on the news every day. Whether its your email provider, your favorite department store or Government offices - its seems that everyone is at risk from hackers these days. So, what's the answer? Well, there are two ways of dealing with it. You can either just try to keep a low profile and rely on others to keep your private details secure or you can do something about it yourself. 2 Eyes On You Protect Their Innocence
Review posted Wed 21 Oct '15

There's little doubt that the iPad and tablets in general have completely changed the way we think and work these days. For kids, in particular, they have opened up a whole new world of entertainment and education, the like of which we've never seen before. There are apps being put on the market now that would never have seen the light of day if there wasn't a tablet to view them on. Typically though, there's a downside to most new things. For a start, how do we know that the things our children are viewing on the Internet are safe ... Read more

One of the more painful things about giving out your mobile phone number to people that you don't really know is that you are instantly vulnerable. If it’s a business that has your number, the chances are you'll be getting follow up calls offering 'the deal of a lifetime' for the next few weeks. While that's not so bad if you are at home receiving the call, you really don't want random phone calls while you are at work, out for dinner or - worst of all - when you are driving. DialMask is a very useful phone privacy app ... Read more

Email has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the years. When the email revolution really took hold in the '90s, people initially held it in suspicion. The advent of email spamming over the following years just seemed to compound that fear. To the point that people were reluctant to even hand out their email addresses for fear of being inundated with viruses and unwanted advertising. Thankfully, things have moved on since then and email is now a viable alternative to regular post for getting information out there to individuals or organizations. Now we receive hundreds and sometimes thousands ... Read more

You might have seen a review that FeedMyApp ran recently for an iOS app called Notes Lock. It secured all your notes, recorded conversations and your private thoughts so that prying eyes wouldn't be able to get to them. Folder Lock Advanced is kind of an expanded version of that for both Android, iPhone and iPad that takes security one step further to protect and lock your personal folders, files, photos, apps, videos, notes, wallet and any other kind of data that you need to keep secure. This release is actually an updated and far more advanced version of the ... Read more

A few years ago I had a friend who had been laboriously plotting a story that he hoped might be taken up as a tv series. He kept it tucked away on his mobile device and worked on it diligently for over a year. I contacted him again a couple of years later after I'd seen the pilot episode of a new series because the plot line bore a remarkable resemblance to his own. He told me that he'd seen the episode and put two and two together and worked out that, while he'd been at a writers’ workshop, he'd ... Read more

If there's one word that comes to mind regarding our online activities over the last few years it is security. Not only are there people from as far as the Ukraine and China trying to access our private information but there's also been plenty of occasions when friends, family and co workers have felt the compulsion to see what we are up to on our devices. I've lost count of the number of times that I've seen an embarrassing post on a friend's social media account which has obviously been entered by someone other than themselves when they have left ... Review posted Thu 6 Aug '15

When I first spoke about the concept of cloud computing to a friend in the business in England a few years ago, we both knew that there was one thing that stood in the way - security. While it was possible to offer cheap and reliable cloud collaboration, how could customers be 100% sure that their private and confidential data was 100% secure? Well, this could well be the answer to those sceptics. Ribose is a free, cloud-based, social collaboration app that connects you with friends, family, fellow-workers and communities whilst adhering to the highest possible security levels to ensure ...
