Classic old school gameplay for modern devices

Paradot Do you have the balls!
Review posted Tue 29 Sep '15

I went to visit some friends down the coast recently and it occurred to me that the choice of home entertainment goes down big time as soon as one gets away from the city. We played a few games of cards before someone pulled out a peg solitaire game and that was it for the rest of the evening. I'd forgotten how wonderfully addictive and entertaining it was. I guess there was a little bit of synchronicity involved when I came across this entertaining puzzle game for iOS that bears some basic similarities. Paradot is a minimalistic retro style action ... Easier and a heck of a lot more fun than just rolling dice

CritDice Easier than rolling real dice.
Review posted Wed 9 Sep '15

Not being much of a game playing kind of guy, I winced a little bit when I first looked at this dice roller app. I mean, unless you love dice games, what is there to say about them? They roll, they score, that's it! Why do you need an app for that? You may just as well use real dice, right? Well, how wrong can one be? CritDice really is a whole lot of fun and already I'd much rather use this Android app to roll dice than the real thing. This free game for smartphones and tablets makes rolling ... Read more

An easy way to stich two photos together without using Photoshop

Photocon Photocon is a slick photo...
Review posted Sun 30 Aug '15

We love a decent photo-editing app here at the FeedMyApp offices. There was a time there when they were coming through in droves. I've got so many on my smartphone that it's not funny. However, the one I've been hoping will turn up has been an app that will stitch two photographs together in some form so that you can seamlessly place one image next to another. Up until now, those actions could really only be achieved in Photoshop or something rather similar. But now we have an easy-to-use Android photo editing app called Photocon where you can take a ... Positive advice from your guardian angels

Ask The Guides: Success The best app for finding...
Review posted Wed 19 Aug '15

I think it was Steve Martin who said in the Grand Canyon movie, "The answer to all of life's problems are in the movies." There are a lot of movies out there so I'm sure that's true in general but I don't think any movie has offered up a remedy for world peace just yet. I think we all agree that the big problems can be very difficult to solve but smaller ones might have a chance...given the right advice. Ask The Guides: Success is an entertaining, interactive oracle reading app for iOS that allows the user to ask any ... Read more

The first online and in-person game to use GIFs to get your message across

YIX Cards Against Humanity with...
Review posted Sun 13 Jul '14

It's not easy to come up with an original game concept these days. YIX is a new game for iOS that actually manages to come up with something a little bit different to keep us amused. Well, to be honest, you can't really call this entertaining and very social game truly original because it's origins lie in games like Cards Against Humanity and Apples To Apples but, with it's use of animated GIFs rather than cards, it offers a unique take on a fun and often hilarious piece of entertainment that you can play with family and friends.   The ... Try to find the treasure in the mystery house by solving clues and riddles

The Hidden Treasure of Nahala The Hidden Treasure of Nahala...
Review posted Mon 2 Jun '14

It must have been my growing up in a household that was stacked with Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes novels that led to my love of a genuinely good  'whodunnit' mystery. I used to love trying to figure out who the dastardly murderer was or who stole the jewels from some stately mansion. Then along came the Cluedo board game and it went to another level. The thought of Mr Mustard bludgeoning someone to death with a hammer in the kitchen still haunts me. Things changed inexorably though when fully interactive games like Myst and, later on, Syberia were unleashed ... Read more

Take selfies of the thieves that use your phone and view them on Dropbox

Spy Hunter The cool way to find the thief
Review posted Mon 5 May '14

According to recent figures, crime in NYC was actually down last year - except in one area. The theft of iDevices represented close to 30% of all crime to the extent that the NYPD now has its own department that only deals with the theft of Apple products. Many have argued that it would be simple for manufacturers to install a simple 'cut-off' switch that would render the device inoperable if it was established that it has been stolen but there has been much navel gazing when it comes to actually doing anything about it. Apple and their cohorts claim ... Read more

Trap that Crazy Dot with strategy and mind games

Crazy Dot the new puzzle game, strategy...
Review posted Fri 2 May '14

There are heaps of free puzzle games available in the Google Play store. They are massively popular. But here is a new kind of puzzle game that's a little bit different from the others. Rather than playing 'join the dots,' Crazy Dot is a strategy game for Android that is more about using the art of collision to win the points and the game rather than using more complicated gameplay. However, don't get the idea that Crazy Dot is a bash n crash mindless experience. It may seem easy-to-play but this game will prove hard to master and you will ... Read more

Turn your photo sharing into a fun and informative game

PicSo - Pic Something Pic Something, challenge and...
Review posted Sun 16 Mar '14

Picture gaming seems to be the thing of the moment. It was only last week that we reviewed an app called ZoomIt! that claimed to be the 'world's first photo sharing game' and here we are with another. PicSo, however, can be far more than just an entertaining game. While it is certainly a lot of fun to play, it can also offer up an educational and informational slant to the photo sharing and gaming concept. This next generation app mixes picture sharing, social networking and games by asking you to include questions, questionnaires and simple quizzes to your photos ... Read more

The perfect app for news junkies

ClipWiz Watch all your favorite news...
Review posted Sat 15 Mar '14

Here's one for all you news junkies out there like me. ClipWiz is a brand new and rather unique news and entertainment application for iOS that lets you better organize and simplify your video news watching. It takes the concept of the humble TV guide to put all your favorite news channels at your disposal in a timeline and based on your viewing habits. Rather than having to painstakingly search the Internet for the latest news or switch between your favorite channels, ClipWiz lines them all up for you to watch as they happen - and all in one much ...
