Review posted Tue 8 Jul '14

The Tower Defense (TD) style of video game is a sub-genre of real time strategy games where the idea is to try to stop an invading force from making inroads into your territory by using various fighting methods - and anything else you can get your hands on. I guess the genre began when Atari introduces the game Rampart way back in the early 90's. The graphics have changed a lot over the years but the gameplay is basically pretty similar. Hero TD - Ancient Continent is a multiplayer online role-playing game for Android, Blackberry10 and iOS that proves to ... Read more

The future of music radio streaming begins here

Review posted Wed 4 Jun '14

The inference from Apple forking out US$3 million for Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine's Beats headphones and the music streaming service Beats Music is that it's only a matter of time before iTunes and the concept of 'owning music' bites the dust. The way we listen to music is changing. According to recent figures released by Digital Music News, digital downloads are down by around 14% this year alone and the trend seems to be drifting towards radio streaming as a way of accessing music. The concept behind streaming radio is that, when you select an artist or a song, ... Read more

A social network for creatives with more than fifty shades of grey

MinaGrey Creative Gets Smart, Smart...
Review posted Sun 1 Jun '14

Don't panic, MinaGrey is not the follow up to Fifty Shades of Grey! It's far more worthy to me than that poorly written piece of fluff. Let me just say from the outset here. This free, art and writing application is unlike any other app that we've seen before here at the FeedMyApp offices. I guess the best way to describe it is would be as a non-commercial artistic and creative community where musicians, artists, writers and scientists can freely share ideas, concepts and their artistic skills with the rest of the world. It's a social network - run by ... Read more

If there is one form of music that you could nail to a specific city it is probably Hip-hop and New York. There is a fair bit of Caribbean influence in there too, of course, but it's origins lie in NYC with Grandmaster Flash, the Sugarhill Gang and Africa Bambaataa. Back then it was known as Disco Rap while today it takes on many forms including Rapping and even MC-ing and is one of the most popular forms of music on the planet. These days, the genre is played all over the world by people of all kinds and with ... Read more

Get compensation if your flight is cancelled or delayed

ClaimAir Collect flight compensations...
Review posted Mon 12 May '14

I'm betting that you, like me, have absolutely no idea that airlines have regulations in force that let you collect compensation for various flying conditions that may interrupt your trip. That's probably because the airlines like to keep it a secret and hide details in the fine print of your contract. The fact is, if your flight is delayed or cancelled or you are denied the right to board for some reason you may be eligible for some form of recompense from the airline involved. This is also true for some baggage related issues including loss or damage. ClaimAir is ... Read more

Review posted Mon 21 Apr '14

One of the great boom industries in the app world over the last few years has been the introduction of cloud storage for your media. Dropbox, Amazon and Google Drive are some that come to mind immediately. So why would you bother to look at another? Well, Streem Drive is a new media storage application that gives you unlimited space to store, stream and share your important movies, photos and music from the cloud for just twenty bucks a month. There is a big difference, however, between Streem Drive and other cloud-based storage apps. Not only does it take up ... Read more

MySetlist Concert song voting
Review posted Sat 19 Apr '14

How many times have you seen the Rolling Stones in concert? I've seen them a couple of times over the years but, to be honest, I don't have a great deal of interest in seeing them again. The problem is, they've had so many iconic songs, it can start to get a little dull when they have to play them each time they perform. I mean, can you imagine the Stones playing live and not playing Honky Tonk Women or Satisfaction or Street Fighting Man or... I rest my case. To their credit, they toured a few years back and ... MeetMusic Musicians around you
Review posted Tue 1 Apr '14

It wasn't too many years ago that, if you were a musician, you could rock up to any number of pubs or bars with your instrument and find a whole bunch of other cool musicians to play or jam with. The downturn in the economy and the introduction of distractions like poker machines put paid to that in many cities around the world but there are still plenty of places where it is still possible to strap on the guitar and rock it out with the best of em. MeetMusic is a cool, free music application for iOS and Android ... Read more

A mobile diary so you dont forget your raving times

Plursty Plursty, a mobile check-in...
Review posted Wed 26 Mar '14

When I was in my teens I went to so many gig sit is hard to remember them all but there was a period there of a year or so where I listed every single band that I saw in a diary. I think it came to about 385 if I remember rightly. I wish I had kept that diary. You'd have to spend a small fortune to see that many bands these days with current gig prices. I guess the modern day equivalent of that is the 'rave' music scene but, with so many punters being under the influence ... Read more
