It would appear that, after the horrors and belt-tightening that resulted from the GFC a few years ago, there seems to be a little bit of money back in the pocket again. It took around 10-15 years for the turnaround to happen after the crash of '29 so we've probably done a good job in minimizing the damage so far. I think we've learned a few things out of this crisis though. The main thing i think that we've learned is that it's never been more important to organize ourselves monetarily and that it's vital to live within our means. ... Read more

Review posted Sun 15 Sep '13  ·  431 comments

Its pretty well established now that, if you want to be successful in business, you really are going to need a website to advertise yourself. There are plenty of 'do-it-yourself' cheap and quick website creation applications available but if you are looking to create a truly professional website with tons of content it can cost you thousands of dollars...not to mention the upkeep. Just Add Content is a web design and hosting application that allows small business owners the chance to compete with the big boys - but for a fraction of the cost and without the need for a ... There has been an awful lot of talk over the last few years about climate change and what we can do about it. Whether you believe that we humans are someway responsible for its more rapid onset over the last twenty years or so or are one of the few that think it's a cyclical problem that we can do little about, there is no doubt that something is not quite right out there. The bizarre weather patterns across the US this year, not to mention the rest of the world, show us that we have a problem. It has ... Read more

We've spoken here plenty of times before and written many a positive review of apps that allow you to better control various aspects of your business website. There are apps to help the web designer put together a great website, ones to market your business online and others to help you analyze your business and optimize its growth potential. There are very few, however, that provide absolutely everything that a business needs to build and grow to fulfill that potential. But here is a new business app that has got the lot. The Marketecture Total Online Business System is the ... Read more

Have a look at your fridge door. Is it covered with post-it notes detailing money owed or split bills that you share with flat mates?  Or a list of books, cd's or DVD's that you have lent to friends? That's how mine looks, anyway. I've thought of using one of the many apps available but, to be quite honest, they've left a little to be desired. Some only link up to your social media friends, some require yet another log in with a password (just what i need) and some only deal in money whereas most of the things I ... Read more

Aircus Business driven SME platform
Review posted Fri 15 Mar '13  ·  164 comments

There has been a stumbling block that has prevented many talented  individuals and small (and not so small) businesses from opening their own website and the reason is the price that it costs to put it together, not to mention hosting it. The nearest you could get to a free website was a Cool Mojito Facebook page but now there's a new sherif in town - and it's name is Aircus. This excellent free web design and web hosting application walks you through a simple but effective website builder in minutes with heaps of features to advertise yourself, your brand, ... Read more

Ten years ago the word viral suggested something bad when it came to computer use. The nature of the word led thoughts towards viruses that would harm your computer or spam that would fill up your email in box with adverts for fake Rolexes and Viagra but why those two went together, I will never know. These days viral marketing is a legitimate and intelligent may of getting your message across that works on the 'suggest' theory rather than it being thrust down your throat. Nowadays, in fact, the tables are turned and the smartphone user can actually make money ... Read more

It looks as if the trials and tribulations associated with the global financial crisis have probably hit their low point and there are signs that the world is finally dragging itself out of the biggest financial maelstrom since the great depression of the '30's. While not suggesting that things are rosy for many, it may be the time to get your finances in order and start again and begin to get better organized monetarily so you are prepared for any eventuality if it ever happens again.
