Security for your computer with added locate and alert features

Review posted Tue 16 Dec '14

You'd think we'd have all learned our lesson these days about computer security. While Edward Snowden's efforts are probably out of the leagues of most people, it does seem rather silly to leave our work computers unlocked and vulnerable when we are away from our desk or when we go home at night. That's why the Gatekeeper Chain (or GK Chains) app was created. It lets you auto-lock and unlock your computer when you walk away and toward it...amongst other things. Gatekeeper - Locate and Alert is an Android and iOS app that works in conjunction with the GK Chain ... Read more

Review posted Sat 29 Nov '14

Does the whole concept of Black Friday scare the living daylights out of you? You've spotted an advertised price for a new TV but it's probably going to mean queuing up for hours, maybe days, in order to actually buy it at that price. Not only that but there's going to be a lot of pushing and shoving when you get in there. But it doesn't have to be like that. PWUL (Pay What You Like) is a new shopping application that constantly tracks thousands of websites to find the item that you want and at the price that you ... Read more

A better way to monitor your website for downtime

Pingometer #1 Website Uptime Monitor
Review posted Sat 22 Nov '14

So, you've probably spent weeks and months diligently putting your website together with everything from your latest brand information to ecommerce sales. You probably think that you can relax a bit now and let the website do all the work. Uh-huh? That's a really dangerous thing to do. If something goes wrong with your website and there is downtime, you might not just lose a few sales while it isn't working. There's little more frustrating for the potential customer than a website that doesn't work efficiently and, chances are, those people won't be back. Pingometer is a top notch website ... Read more

Save time and money with this effective set of brand protection tools

BrandShield - Brand Protection The future of brand protection
Review posted Sun 7 Sep '14

There was a hilarious moment at the FIFA World Cup in Germany in 2006 when thousands of Dutch football supporters were forced to remove their garish orange trousers and watch their team's game with the Ivory Coast in their underpants. It wasn't the German fashion police that caused supporters such embarrassment - even though they would have been well within their rights to do so. The fact is, the trousers were emblazoned with the advertising logo of a beer company named Bavaria, while the competition was sponsored by Budweiser. The monitoring FIFA officials ruled it a serious case of 'ambush ... Read more

It would appear that, after the horrors and belt-tightening that resulted from the GFC a few years ago, there seems to be a little bit of money back in the pocket again. It took around 10-15 years for the turnaround to happen after the crash of '29 so we've probably done a good job in minimizing the damage so far. I think we've learned a few things out of this crisis though. The main thing i think that we've learned is that it's never been more important to organize ourselves monetarily and that it's vital to live within our means. ... Read more

Review posted Sun 11 May '14

I guess the best way to describe a heat map is probably to think of it as a table or a spreadsheet. Rather than detailing information with numbers, however, heat maps highlight the same information but use colors instead. This makes it clearer and easier for experienced users to analyze certain aspects of information. Read Heat is an education application that uses this technology to better analyze students to see how they react and respond to questions posed in the new Common Core standards testing. It aims to find out more about how students respond to the latest formats of ... Read more

A new, easy and provocative way of writing a personal diary or journal

Askt App Journal by daily questions
Review posted Sat 26 Apr '14

You might have seen a review that FeedMyApp posted recently for an app called BooksTo.Me. In it, it was mentioned how posting daily Instagram photos has become the new diary for many people and how it was a convenient way of documenting your life. The diary concept has all but disappeared for many these days, but with so many popular online versions available as well as the plethora of personal blogs and journals, it’s obvious that many have a hankering to document their daily activities. But anyone who writes on a daily basis will know that the hardest sentence to ... Read more

Review posted Fri 21 Mar '14

It wasn't that long ago when email marketing was lumped in with the dreaded 'spam' word and was something to be avoided. It had its brief day in the sun but it became obvious that blanket emailing was largely a waste of time and money and better results would come from a much more targeted audience and a marketing campaign that can be tracked and analyzed. Acumbamail is a new email marketing and tracking application that makes it simple and cheap to manage a fully customized email campaign and get stats and analysis galore to track how well it is ... One of the essential travel apps for travel in Asia

Tripper The World's Local Assistant
Review posted Wed 26 Feb '14  ·  1 comment

Wouldn't it be great if you could take your very own interpreter with you when you visit a country where you don't speak or understand the language? You could hire one with some local knowledge when you get to your destination but that can be quite pricey and there's no guarantee that your guide will have all the answers you need. What's more, you are going to need them to hang around with you wherever you go. The sensible alternative may be to turn to an iOS and Android travel application like this one. Tripper, or 'The World's Local Assistant' ... Read more
