I've often wondered, you know. What exactly is it that turns a good app into a viral sensation? Over the years we've reviewed all the great free social apps upon release here at the FeedMyApp offices. Some, like Pinterest, Vine and Snapchat, were pretty obviously going to succeed. Others, like Flipboard, were not quite so obvious. The one thing they do need is a fair bit of luck. Given that wee bit of that luck, here's one that looks like it has all the right ingredients to hit the big time and be a mainstay in the app world over ... Read more

Some apps are sent to change our lives - this is one of them

Gesturely The perfect app for people...
Review posted Fri 21 Aug '15

Here at the FeedMyApp offices, we get sent a vast amount of app submissions every week. The last time I looked there were well over 30,000 apps in the system. Most of them are a lot of fun and don't claim to be groundbreaking events but occasionally, just occasionally, one comes along that will actually improve our lives. They are those one-of-a-kind apps that we wish we had come up with ourselves. Gesturely is one such app. So how can it change our lives? Well, how many times at work do you find yourself sending emails or messages out with ... Read more

Outfield The mobile interaction CRM...
Review posted Mon 15 Sep '14

The way business works is changing rather rapidly in the 21st Century. Rather than everything being purely centered around an office environment, more and more businesses are working with reps in the field - whether it be in the local community, nationally or worldwide. It used to be complicated to keep in touch and collaborate with mobile workers who would report in anyway they could but mostly via expensive phone calls, emails or by fax. I'm sure you remember those horrible fax machines. Some of you are probably still using them now. Thankfully, those days seem numbered when apps like ... Read more

Review posted Tue 9 Sep '14

The world is not a very happy place right now. Just look at the news. There's trouble in the Middle East and Europe, and Africa is a minefield just waiting to explode. The fact is, as individuals, we can't really have much control over what's happening in the word. We can have some control in our own individual happiness, however. MyHappiness is a social self-help application for iOS and Android that can be used as a personal happiness trainer as well as a platform to keep a record of your happy times and your not-so-happy times. This fun set of ... Read more

Who said that there wasnt any such thing as a baby manual?

Review posted Sat 16 Aug '14

There's an old adage that says something along the lines of 'babies don't come with a users manual' but here's an app that goes some way to defying that. iBaby is a new free baby health monitoring application that helps parents keep track of their baby's progress from conception to birth (and beyond.) Starting when you configure and enter your due date, this customizable application will keep you constantly updated as to where things stand and how long it will be until your baby is born. It also delivers week-by-week baby development information and a progress development bar so you ... Read more

Mobile Web apps have come a long way to challenge their Native app counterparts and a debate has formed as to which method is best. Both offer users and developers advantages and hindrances in platform independence, performance, user discoverability, maintenance and much more. One thing is for certain, organizations developing their mobile content strategy should be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of both application technologies. Read more

Review posted Sun 15 Jun '14

If you have to rely on hand written notes or your memory to keep track of your business dealings and phone calls in the 21st Century you really aren't fulfilling the potential of your capabilities. It's not so bad if you are dealing with the odd phone call but, if you are receiving a fair number of enquiries, there is no way you will be able to keep track of everything that is said or done. Vegan Scanner Identify whether a product is...
Review posted Wed 14 May '14

Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal-derived products with an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals. Dietary vegans (or strict vegetarians) refrain from consuming all animal related products. This means meat, fish, chicken, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived substances. A trip to the supermarket however, often turns into a nightmare for vegans, because of the often confusing ingredient labeling on many of the items. Vegan Scanner lets you scan the item's barcode with your iOS or Android's camera and get information about the product.   As a vegan, when in ... Read more

An easy way to assess mental health in young people

Child Harm Risk Assessment Suicide Risk Assessment
Review posted Wed 30 Apr '14

This is not a review like the ones that we usually feature here. It's not going to solve your business conundrums and it's not an addictive and fun game that'll keep you amused for a few hours. Child Harm Risk Assessment is a health and wellbeing application for Android that was put together by noted Australian mental health professional Peter Kohleis with the object of laying down all the information needed when assessing the mental health of young people. It offers an easy-to-use, evidence informed clinical assessment of a young person's state of mind and meets all the requirements of ... Read more

I've been saying for a while now that, when the general populace finally get their heads around the concept of QR codes, they will take over the world. They are the perfect vehicle to advertise product on smartphones and, in the blink of an eye, you can open a website, find prices and reviews, launch videos, show product information, buy merchandise or simply be entertained and find coupons. Scanlife is the global leader in providing cloud-based mobile solutions that bring products and information to life and introduce this all-in-one, lightning fast barcode scanner and QR code reader that's up there ...
