Play what your fans want to hear rather than your lead guitarist's pick

MySetlist Concert song voting
Review posted Yesterday

How many times have you seen the Rolling Stones in concert? I've seen them a couple of times over the years but, to be honest, I don't have a great deal of interest in seeing them again. The problem is, they've had so many iconic songs, it can start to get a little dull when they have to play them each time they perform. I mean, can you imagine the Stones playing live and not playing Honky Tonk Women or Satisfaction or Street Fighting Man or... I rest my case. To their credit, they toured a few years back and ... The safest way to avoid parking tickets

ParkingMaestro Local app to save motorists...
Review posted Wed 9 Apr '14

If there's one thing that's guaranteed to put a motorist in a foul mood for the day, it's the parking fine. To be fined hundreds of dollars for simply parking your car for five minutes longer that it should be is, to be quite honest, rather pathetic. To my mind, councils should be putting more of our tax dollars into building car parks and improving public transport than hiring thousands of resolute parking officers to slap a ticket on your car. The fact is, our cities are overcrowded and there are more cars on the roads these days than ever ... Read more

Find fellow musicians, live gigs and rehearsal rooms around you using geolocalization

MeetMusic Musicians around you
Review posted Tue 1 Apr '14

It wasn't too many years ago that, if you were a musician, you could rock up to any number of pubs or bars with your instrument and find a whole bunch of other cool musicians to play or jam with. The downturn in the economy and the introduction of distractions like poker machines put paid to that in many cities around the world but there are still plenty of places where it is still possible to strap on the guitar and rock it out with the best of em. MeetMusic is a cool, free music application for iOS and Android ... Read more

A mobile diary so you dont forget your raving times

Plursty Plursty, a mobile check-in...
Review posted Wed 26 Mar '14

When I was in my teens I went to so many gig sit is hard to remember them all but there was a period there of a year or so where I listed every single band that I saw in a diary. I think it came to about 385 if I remember rightly. I wish I had kept that diary. You'd have to spend a small fortune to see that many bands these days with current gig prices. I guess the modern day equivalent of that is the 'rave' music scene but, with so many punters being under the influence ... Read more

Hellfie social networking photo
Review posted Tue 25 Mar '14

We all have bad days from time to time but sometimes they are difficult to put into words. Sure, you can tell your friends that you woke up with a bad headache and the cat had thrown up in the kitchen and you missed the train to work but it does seem like a bit of a whinge when you see that on your favorite social network first thing in the morning. As the old saying goes...a picture tells a thousand words. Hellfie is a photo sharing app that turns into a social network for those moments when only a ... Read more

Character building for 10-14 year olds using goals, rewards and consequences

Creating Character "In Tweens" Chore & Behavior Chart
Review posted Sun 23 Mar '14

We often hear talk about kids today having a much easier life than we had and how good and moral behavior seems to have gone out of the window. Of course, that isn't true for all children but, as our lives have got busier and more complicated, it's probably safe to say that a strict regimen of manners, discipline and maybe even moral standard has slipped away a little over the years. Many of us spend more time haranguing and arguing with our kids than we do in guiding them into, what is, a very competitive and harsh world. To ... Read more

See the planet Earth from a completely new perspective

Elevation Earth Elevation Earth Water
Review posted Tue 18 Mar '14

I'm not sure what it is but we all seem to be completely fascinated with anything to do with outer space. I guess the romance started when Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person in space and was cemented into our cerebrum when Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon. The views of earth that were taken from up there were truly breathtaking and we've been in love with those images ever since. There have been plenty of sky and space apps that have tried to recapture those moment but very few have come close to making us gasp ... Read more

A fully portable autism aid for when you are on the go

Words in Pictures App for autistic children
Review posted Thu 6 Mar '14

According to Wikipedia, Autism is defined as ' a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and verbal and non-verbal communication and by restricted, repetitive or stereotypical behavior.' Sufferers, more often than not young children, regularly have trouble understanding concepts that can generally only be solved using pictures to back up vocabulary and diligent parents will spend hours at home setting up image cards to help kids understand better, the world that they live in. A year or so back, an Italian developer - aided by a team of neuropsychiatrists, speech therapists, educators and parents from all over ... Read more
