BarLink Online Connecting Online with Real...
Review posted Sat 28 Jan '12

Dear oh dear, whatever next? I guess I’m getting a bit too old for new crazes in the pubs and bars of the world but just reading the developers blurb for this one gives a strong enough hint that the art of conversation and personal interaction is sadly on the way out. There is obviously a market for something like this as the site points out what we all know already. That is on that many a night out with a group of friends at least half of them will spend more time tapping away at their cell phones than taking part ... Read more

Vent and rant about your boss

FMyBoss Show some balls. Give em hell
Review posted Mon 16 Jan '12

Yes you read it correctly. This rather humorous review app is called FMyBoss but in reality its really called F#%£MyBoss. So what's it all about I hear you say? Well it's an app for venting and letting off a bit of steam. FMyBoss is a place you can go to sound off with all your grievances about your boss at work. All the dumb things that do and don't get done, all the stupid things they implement and all the things you zip up about when your boss turns up while you are chatting around the water cooler at tea ... What better time to review an app that promises to turn clutter into cash than just after the majority of us will have had our clutter collection greatly enhanced! Christmas brings some great joy in the shape of presents but it also brings some comical jaw dropping moments when the wrapping paper hits the floor and you’re left with one thought;  "just what were they thinking of?" Zuujit is a social marketplace where you can list any items you want to sell, ship them and get paid for them. betterGrind Leverage your friends to find...
Review posted Thu 22 Dec '11

ˈIt’s not what you but who you knowˈ is a phrase that often pops up in connection with people who manage to land a job that to the innocent bystander seems way beyond them. Well this site positively encourages you to use your friends and any influence they may have to get you a job where they work but if you don’t have a Facebook account you can’t, at least for the moment, play along. It might be simplifying it a little I suppose. After all if you wanted a job and needed to ask your friends to put in a good ... Read more

I love this, interviews might be a fundamental part of the hiring process but you can’t really gauge if the applicant could do the job once they’re on the payroll from a polite conversation over coffee and a Krispy Kreme. You’re also never quite sure how much of the resume has been dressed up. I once worked for a business where a guy applied for the position of Head of Operations. His resume stated quite clearly that he spoke fluent Dutch which might have been why our Dutch boss was keen to interview him. One simple question in the language soon ... Read more

Putting the social back into moviegoing

MovieGoer The best way to go to the...
Review posted Mon 19 Dec '11  ·  2 comments

It used to be that the best form of advertising for your movie was purely word-of-mouth. When you saw a movie that you liked you would tell your friends who would tell their friends and so on. The movies became a very social occasion. MovieGoer is a social movie and video sharing app for your iPhone that tries to put the social back into movie going. It uses peer pressure to encourage more people to actually go to the movies rather than catching a film on video.   MovieGoer is a new kind of mobile app that applies social networking ... Read more
