Parking dot RIP Parking.RIP makes parking...
Review posted Mon 9 Nov '15

Is there anything more frustrating and completely pointless for a motorist than getting a parking fine? We all know that half the time it's simply a revenue earner for the company or local jurisdiction and it doesn't seem to matter too much whether you are one minute or one hour over your time limit. Parking inspectors take little notice and the fine seems to be exactly the same. Parking.RIP is a new GPS based app for Android and iOS that helps in a number of ways and makes parking fines history. A convenient and fun way of geolocating your travel photos and discovering new places Your photos connected to the...
Review posted Mon 17 Mar '14

When modern smartphones and GPS capable cameras introduced their geolocation capabilities a while back, an opportunity was created for some enterprising entrepreneur to take full advantage of it. One in particular realized that it was all very well to display one's photographs but it wasn't quite so easy to remember where and when they were taken. The developers realized that when you take a photo using the new technology, your device logs the coordinates where the photo was taken. So, utilizing that information, they created UrbanBird to log your photo details automatically with dates, locations, titles and descriptions. Then, as ... Read more

Review posted Wed 9 Oct '13

While we enjoy the benefits of our device's default energy saving capabilities there are times when it's actually kind of aggravating. Probably the most annoying is when using the GPS system or reading a map. The last thing that you need is for your device to dim out or go into sleep mode when you need it in a hurry. It can be downright dangerous, if it comes to that. Stay Alive! is a free, simple and effective mobile and tablet application that is guaranteed to keep your device's screen active when you need it and off when you don't. ... Read more

Create a real 3D city on your iPad

Cutetown The most beautiful map
Review posted Thu 31 Jan '13

Fancy yourself as the next Frank Lloyd Wright or Frank Gehry? Cutetown won't quite give you the same freedom of expression as some of the buildings created by either of those great two architects but it does provide a hell of a lot of fun. The app is a beautiful 3D map editor that allows you to transform GPS maps into highly detailed three-dimensional maps of real places on iPad. Its a bit like using a digital version of Lego, I guess. At the moment, as the app is in its early stages, there are only a few places to ... Read more

Review posted Thu 17 Jan '13

The last third of Cameron Crowe's much maligned minor classic movie "Elizabethtown" features a lengthy road trip for Orlando Bloom's character Drew. It's a fabulous and classic road trip that he undertakes and one that has inspired many to take that same trip. The travel story is mapped out beautifully by his new friend Claire and takes him from from Louisville Kentucky down to New Orleans via all sorts of fascinating places on the way. Gazettr is a new travel application that draws on the same passion and enthusiasm that Claire's road trip gave to Drew. It's a place to ... Read more
