A social network with a secret sign

The Four Finder You have found your four
Review posted Fri 13 Jan '12  ·  1 comment

Right, are you sitting down because this does get a little complicated? I've never seen a social network that works quite the same way that The Four Finder does. It seems to take the adventure aspect of Four Square and marries it to a social network as another way of introducing you to possible new friendships. The other things this social and mapping has that the others don't is a very cool name and a secret sign for members. But more about that later.   The Four Finder helps you to meet new friends. If you want to introduce yourself ... Read more

GPS rangefinder for golfers

AccelGolf Tools for savvy golfers
Review posted Thu 15 Dec '11

If you’re getting a little frustrated about your inability to gauge distances on the golf course, and before you hurl that pesky five-iron into the nearest water hazard, you might want to check this one out. The swing and pray method, although not very Tiger Woods, might be sufficient for the casual golfer who sees the occasional round as more of a nice walk often ruined. For the earnest golfers out there however, the sickening splash that confirms their choice of club was one short can often send them straight to the analyst’s chair. Read more

Running a sports club just got a whole lot easier

TreasureEase Club Sports Treasury Software
Review posted Sat 10 Dec '11

As a sports club treasurer myself I know exactly how much unpaid time and effort goes into getting the books straight and making sure there is enough money in the bank to pay for kit, buses, food and that nasty smelling spray that seems to cure all aches and pains. How nice it is then to see an app especially built for us unsung heroes of the sports field. As the guys behind TreasureEase point out, most people who blindly volunteer for the role are not accountants and therefore the pleasure of navigating Excel spreadsheets will come as a bit of ... Unanchor Less research, more travel
Review posted Thu 8 Dec '11  ·  1 comment

If you've traveled a fair bit you'll know that the best way to discover a new city is to talk to local people. There's no better way to come to grips with a city that to discover it's underbelly and to go where the locals go and not so much where the tourists go. Unanchor is a travel and social app that was developed after a year long trip through Asia and much ploughing through Lonely Planet guides to find the more interesting side of a city that isn't normally seen by travelers. It features detailed guides written by locals ... Read more

Fitness Coaches - keep in sync with your athletic clients and your $$$

Coachulous Manage your coaching business
Review posted Wed 30 Nov '11

At first glance I thought this app, which helps fitness coaches keep in sync with their athletic clients, was a little quirky. The whole thing kicks off not with any coaching schedules or exercise tips but with an overview of the financial health of the business. Think about it for a second though and it makes complete sense, after all, the coach is running a business like anyone else and apart from keeping on top of the workload needs to make sure it’s paying too.
