AsPDF is one of those types of apps that I love the most. While it appears to be little more than a place to submit and share PDF's - generally not the most exciting and fun concept - there are two different functions that AsPDF can  fulfill. While ReadCube doesn't contain anything earth shatteringly extra to similar apps like Papers For Macintosh, Mendeley and Zotero, it is a very useful and attractive looking alternative to have around. ReadCube streamlines PubMed / Google Scholar searches and article downloads, helps researchers to organize and annotate publications as well as creating references with Endnote and simplifying the whole literature research thing. There have been plenty of times when I've said to a Twittere friend "Have you read any Jonathan Carroll books?" Of course, they've generally never heard of him so I offer to send them something so they can see if they like his writing. That's where it gets a little tricky.
