I'm sure most of us have been in a position where we have had to send an online document or a photo to someone in a hurry. It could be a multi-page contract, a map or an essay. It wouldn't be easy but, i guess you could take a photo of it with your phone camera but its a bit of a pain and not everyone has a smartphone. God help you if you have to convert it into a PDF or something. What you really need is a scanner that you could carry around with you. Sendable is a ... Read more

The scanner really hasn't been utilized as well as it could as a legitimate piece of business software. We tend to use them as a peripheral device and rarely as a vital part of everyday business life. But if you are still using a lot of paper documents - whether it be receipts, invoices, bank statements, lecture notes or even the odd recipe that you want to keep for later use - its a hell of a lot easier to keep track of them if you can get your hands on a decent scanning app with some organizing abilities. Once upon a time, the most frustrating aspect of a meeting away from your office was when you checked in your briefcase for a certain piece of paper only to find that you had forgotten or mislaid it. These days, with a computer close at hand, we seem to have alleviated much of that problem. Away from the computer is a different matter, however. Unless you had the forethought to email yourself the information so that it was easily accessible you still have the same problem. Your information is at one place and you are at another. Common Core Lesson Planner Education App of the Year 2013
Review posted Mon 22 Apr '13  ·  51 comments

The image that immediately comes to mind when thinking of planning and preparing teaching lessons is of the kindly teacher, laboriously trudging through large amounts of paper and mapping out the direction of the upcoming lesson. Oh, hang on...that was a Dickens book i was reading. Well, its either that or you can update it to the 20th Century by imagining the same scenario with its modern day equivalent - Excel spreadsheets and Word documents. Now it's time to move on from those efficient but bad old days and move into the next generation of lesson planning. Common Core is ... Read more

At first look this iOS application looks to be a pretty simple thing. "Bye, bye email...hello TagMyDoc" goes the byline to this innovative and very useful file sharing app. TagMyDoc could well be the future of document sharing and takes online communication one step further into the 21st Century. While it's taking people a while to come to terms with QR Code technology - and many people I talk to still have no idea what those funny little square boxes are all about - when one wakes up to the idea that they are basically a bar code it's easy to see the possibilities. TapMyDoc is a free app that let's you place ... Read more

When you are sitting in a lecture, a seminar or meeting you don't really want to be the one tapping away on your keyboard while the action takes place. Apart from anything else, it's kinda distracting and you can hire a stenographer to do that. Remember when you were in collage with that foolscap pad you used to take to lectures. It was covered in doodles and stuff but it did carry the crux of the information whether it be through diagrams or your note taking. Soundnote is the modern day foolscap pad with one big difference - not only ... Read more
