If you can’t afford that PA to pop your day’s agenda on your desk every morning then this could be a cheaper option. You won’t have to buy birthday and Christmas presents for it either! ContactMe looks simple enough but it will do a thorough job in getting your busy schedule organized. Once that’s sorted it can then move on and make you so much more contactable by people who just might want to spend money. Read more

Schedule a shift for your staff – and then make sure they do it!

Enigmai - Employee scheduling and management The fastest way to schedule...
Review posted Wed 7 Dec '11

Poor employees, gone are the days when you could finish a shift and forget about the boss until the next one. Once upon a time you could even ignore the ringing of the telephone just in case it was him with a desperate invitation to do some more hours. I’m being a little unfair perhaps. Although Enigmai does give business owners a greater chance of success at contacting employees out of hours that’s not all it can do. As a scheduler it not only manages shifts but can monitor attendance as well as acting as a useful employee management system. Read more

Time tracking and productivity

Review posted Sat 3 Dec '11  ·  2 comments

If you've ever been in a situation at work where you have been the paymaster you will know what a time consuming and thankless task it can be. Having to chase up whether Charlie worked last Friday night and figuring out if Rose really was half an hour late this morning. You never get plaudits for paying the correct amount of wages each week but you'll sure as hell hear about it if you haven't paid them enough. DeskTime is a free real-time time tracking and productivity app that will give precise and automated times on when and when not ... Read more

Review posted Thu 1 Dec '11

Having access to the question paper before sitting an exam would obviously give you a considerable advantage but few of us have ever had that luxury. It strikes me as slightly comical therefore that a group of business school students have got together to develop a site that aims to give you the answers to questions that might arise when you’re being interviewed for a management consultant post. Collaboration for news with rich media content

Civicboom Collaborate with rich media...
Review posted Thu 1 Dec '11

It is a fundamental human trait to need to ask questions and get responses. In the old days when we tended to live in smaller communities this was possible with face-to-face communication. However, as society has grown it has become impractical for one person to communicate their thoughts and news with everyone on a daily basis. Then newspapers and printed media entered the scene offering content and insight to a broader crowd. Then came the digital age and then came CivicBoom. It's a news app that connects the people that have news content with the people that need it. Read more

An illustrated record of your life...

MOREDAYS Enjoy your extra days. With...
Review posted Wed 30 Nov '11

I’m a great believer in people writing some sort of record of their lives and I don’t just mean the rich and famous. There a far too many gravestones in the world with no story attached to them as far as I’m concerned and so getting people to jot down just some basic daily or weekly events is a start. There are wider implications of course and even though many people will consider their lives mundane and of no interest whatsoever to anyone else the generations that follow will probably see things in a different light. From a social history angle, ... Read more

Review posted Tue 29 Nov '11  ·  1 comment

Wow! If the guy’s behind this one have got their sums right there is a serious amount of cash being paid to people annually for just sitting in meetings. It wouldn’t be such a worry if a high percentage of these meetings actually achieved something but if you’re like me and have attended scores of them in your career you’ll know how unlikely that is. Rent Luxury Cars

HiGear Rent Luxury Cars
Review posted Mon 14 Nov '11

Do you feel envious when you are driving around town in your rented Ford Fiasco and watching as all the cool luxury cars whip past you? It would be great to be able to hire something a bit more upmarket to make a change. The problem there, of course, is it's a little cost prohibitive, isn't it? While it would be nice to shell out for that Mustang for a day it's not particularly cheap and could set you back hundreds of dollars. So if I told you there was a cool little members only club you could join where ... Read more

Does that place have bedbugs? Check or report here!

Has Bed Bugs Does that place have bedbugs?...
Review posted Sat 12 Nov '11

I must be one of the luckiest people around. I’ve travelled a bit both for business and pleasure purposes but I’ve never had the misfortune to be eaten alive by bedbugs! I’m not quite sure what the people behind this site hope to achieve but I suppose they are providing a public service of some kind. Having said that I do think their mission to "report and follow bedbug information around the world" could be just slightly bordering on the over ambitious. There are a number of ways of interpreting the activity (or lack of it) on the site and some are ... Review posted Thu 10 Nov '11

This is a site that promises much in the way of earning cash but it’s probably a good idea to consider how you make it before you start staging funny situations and capturing them on your video. And unless you reside in the US, Canada, Australia, UK and other EU countries you’ll not be able to take part anyway but I can’t imagine too many people crying over that to be honest. Read more
