Have your food ready and waiting for you at your favorite lunchtime restaurant

Allset Have your lunch served on...
Review posted Thu 24 Sep '15

One of the more annoying things about eating out at a restaurant is the time it takes between getting there and actually getting your meal. As Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part. Don't think you are alone though. Most restaurants could probably fit in an extra sitting if they could cut down the time between guests arriving and actually finishing their meal. It's not quite as inconvenient in the evening when diners have more time but if they only have an hour or so for lunch it can get a bit tight, to say the least. ... Read more

In a Word Reviews Review anything, in a word
Review posted Tue 22 Sep '15

When you ask a friend what they thought of a movie, a book or a restaurant they've visited, the chances are the first thing will say will be short and sweet. Their first response will often come down to something simple like "it's great" or "it's rubbish" before going on to describe it in more detailed terms. While its hardly a detailed response, once they've delivered those fateful initial couple of words, your mind will be made up pretty quickly as to it's worthiness. As the Impressions once sang..."First impressions are lasting impressions..." Read more

FobeSoft P & L's Served Fresh Daily
Review posted Mon 21 Jul '14

When you first got into the restaurant business you probably knew there was going to be a fair amount of paperwork involved. However, it's important to make sure that pen-pushing doesn't take up so much time of your time that it detracts from the main reason that you got into the business in the first place - to cook great food. FobeSoft is a restaurant management application that was created by people who have over thirty years of experience in the food industry. It provides a daily profit and loss statement that gives you a snapshot of where your business ... Read more

Everything you need to run your retail shop or restaurant

Bizimply Business Done Simply
Review posted Tue 29 Apr '14

I asked a retail owner friend of mine the other day how long she spent on 'paperwork' in her three salons and she reckoned it was close-on a day a week. She told me that she would have to laboriously plough through Excel spreadsheets and various notepads for hours every week diligently copying the nightly information from store to head office. I was telling her then that, with the right apps, she could run her entire business from her smartphone and cut her 'paperwork' time in half. Bizimply is the perfect app to illustrate that. It provides an online platform ... Read more

APP4FOOD Your APP 4 Your Restaurant
Review posted Thu 18 Jul '13

Anyone in the food business will know that the restaurant industry is hardly booming these days. New restaurants and food outlets seem to come and go with a remarkable regularity and anything that make it easier to connect with customers has got to be applauded. One advance that has been made in the last couple of years though, has been the introduction of an online presence for the food industry and that's where this marketing application  for mobiles could come in very handy. App4Food let's individual food businesses interact directly with their potential diners by producing a personalized mobile app ... Read more

Citydoping NYC Get high on NYC
Review posted Tue 5 Mar '13

New York is so good they named it twice, according to Frank Sinatra. There has been so much written about the place over the years and it is still one of the must-visit cities in the world. Every travel application features it amongst their top cities but most of them just show you the highlights and obvious tourist places. While its essential to touristy visit places like the Brooklyn Bridge, the Chrysler building and the Statue of Liberty it is just as interesting to see the stuff the locals see. CitydopingNYC is a new iOS app created by New Yorkers ... Read more

Review posted Tue 19 Feb '13

London is a very big city and on any given week there is something like 600 concerts to choose from featuring everything from Irish folk to top 40 to the very best classical orchestras in the world. There's also around 30 different theatrical performances playing not to mention the 11000 bars and restaurants at your disposal. So if you are a visitor to the 'Big Smoke,' as it used to be known, it's almost a full time job to research where to go. You could pick up a copy of Timeout and a bunch of other mags or log on ... It's often said that critics are simply failed performers who got out of the bed the wrong way before they saw the film, played the game or visited the restaurant but that's not really fair. There are some great reviewers around these days with a pure passion for the things they love - but they are getting few and far between. Personally, I have a rule that I never review anything that I don't like, whether it is an app, a movie or a piece of music. But, with everybody seemingly having an opinion about everything these days, it seems ... Read more

Use Facebook to geolocalize your hunt for those Louboutin shoes

Facearound Explore the world around you!
Review posted Sat 17 Nov '12

One of the big problems with new startups is that, even though the developers have come up with a brilliant concept, the app really can't take off without having plenty of members to input information. Quite often, an app really won't hit it's straps until a year or so into its life - if it lasts that long. With Facearound you don't get that problem because it is directly tied to Facebook and draws on a lot of their members' information while encouraging its own members to get involved too. What this iOS app does it to geolocate all the ... Read more
