Employment services seem to be the boom industry of the noughties. But some are better than others. With most of them seem to be fairly anonymous organizations that make you feel you are just one fish in a very big sea though. What you really need if you are a jobseeker is the chance to shine a little bit brighter than the rest of the applicants. Likewise, if you are an employer, the last thing you want is to have to wade through heaps of identical resumes looking for the perfect applicant. You want the cream to rise to the ... Read more

How much is your stuff worth?

Lockboxer How much is your stuff worth?
Review posted Wed 28 Sep '11

I’m sure there is a great feeling to be had when you unclutter your life and get some organization back into your world. The amount of stuff we all accumulate over the years is staggering and most of it suffers the same fate as your CD collection. If I had a dollar for every time I said “right, I’m going to put you in alphabetical order by artist and at the same time catalogue you”, I’d be able to pay someone else to do it! Read more

Attempting to find a new job is a dull process. There's little glamour to it. If you are an employer you'll find yourself ploughing through the seemingly endless dull and boring resumes. Well it used to be called Pingvine but it's now known as PowerShell from PowerFM but that's beside the point. We'll call it Pingvine for convenience sake. It's a free service that takes an RSS feed from your website or blog and posts it on your Twitter account easily and error free.   PingVine is a free Twitter and RSS tool that takes an Atom or RSS feed from your blog, lifestream or favorite website and posts it to Twitter, Ping.fm or Identi.ca. It does this with a simple drag and drop technique and manages to reduce any errors (human ... Read more

Picture the menu!

The MenView Picture the menu!
Review posted Fri 23 Sep '11

I'm sure we've all been out to restaurants and ordered something up on the menu that sounds pretty good but when it arrives it looks more like a bird's nest than the delicate web of pasta as described in the menu. The interestingly named The Men View (no, its not an online hunky men's magazine) is a very cool way to see if the chef's culinary masterpiece lives up to it's description by encouraging members to take and display their own pictures of their culinary delights for all to see. Consequently, many restaurants have begun to upload their own food ... Read more
