A lawyer in your pocket?

EmergInfo When you need a lawyer NOW!!!
Review posted Mon 5 Dec '11

I suppose there comes a time in most people’s lives when they are actually pleased to see a lawyer riding in from the distance. This feeling of relief will be felt no less strongly if you’ve just been involved in a road accident or are about to be arrested for driving under the influence or whilst intoxicated. Whilst the friendly lawyer won’t exactly be riding in from the distance with this app he or she will only be as far away as your pocket. And as long as you’re not too intoxicated or “influenced”, a few dextrous movements of the thumbs ... Read more

Hair salon booking system with good reports

salonMonster Impress your clients with...
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

As the name suggests this one is specifically for the hair salon business and having been designed by some of those in the trade it should tint all the grey bits. As an appointment app it will certainly help get that aspect of the working week sorted out but it can do more than that. You’re never going to get the whole world to stop telephoning to book but giving customers the option to do it via your website 24/7 should cut down on a great number of them doing so. You don’t even have to have an existing website to get ... Read more

Electronic signatures for business and the one-off personal user

SignNow The Easy Way to Sign Documents
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

There a few apps around that enable the electronic signing of documents, which is of course a legally recognized way of sealing a deal in many countries of the world these days. Most of the ones I’ve looked at though are geared to the business community which is fairly understandable given its regular and on-going requirement in this area. Signnow, whilst it is shortly to launch a ˈProˈ version, is very much an electronic signing tool for the one-off needs of personal users. With that in mind it follows that there are no registration procedures to go through and it’s all ... Read more

Group gift giving made easy

Lets Gift It Gift as a group!
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

Getting together with a bunch of chums to buy a gift for one of the crowd is always a good idea. That is until it comes to crunch time and money has to change hands. People forget or suddenly don’t have the cash and you’re left holding the baby. If this scenario sounds familiar then you could make your life a whole lot easier by setting up a gift account with Let’s Gift It. This great looking app will take away the strain of getting everyone who committed to the cause to pay up. What’s more even if some of your ... Read more

Staff scheduling done well

Rotaville Rota Software Weekly Rota Management and...
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

Of the many weekly shift scheduling apps out there this one certainly looks to be up there with them as far as functionality goes with drag and drop features making the operation stress free and fast. If you’re still plotting your staff’s workload on a spreadsheet and then pinning it to the noticeboard you really should take a look at rotaville. You can still print out a copy of the weekly schedule if you like but with a good level of collaboration available on this system there are better ways to notify staff. Read more

This isn’t a bog-standard online diary

Mabame Online Journal and Album
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

Here’s a great idea, how do you fancy having your own website completely dedicated to your life and how you’re living it? Mabame will give you just that and you needn’t worry, it won’t come up in internet searches for all the world to see. You can of course share it with the friends of your choice but even then you’ll be in charge of what they can and can’t see. Read more

Annoy 25 people per week - for free!

AutomatedCalls Easy, Free Mass Notification...
Review posted Fri 2 Dec '11

If you’re looking for a free way to annoy people with one of those pre-recorded telephone calls then this is the place for you. Unfortunately you’ll only get the pleasure of annoying 25 people a week with the free version so if you’re bent on disturbing greater numbers of the public you’ll have to open your wallet. Automatedcalls.com does exactly what it says on the tin and has been doing so for a few years now. In its defense it does state in the FAQ section that it does not allow unsolicited sales or marketing calls or texts but it’s difficult ... Read more

Another personal finance tracker - but does it cut the mustard?

Finance41 Free personal finance
Review posted Thu 1 Dec '11

As one of many personal finance trackers I have to say I’ve seen tidier looking examples than this one that apparently uses "cutting edge technologies to create the greatest user experience." I’ve no doubt it will do a job for you and it’s free so playing around with its functions is probably a good idea and you can do that without actually creating an account. I’d certainly recommend this course of action because the screenshots and advice given when you click on "help getting started" are not the clearest instructions you will ever read. Read more

Timetable and list freaks - you might get a kick out of this

Fasterplan Easily plan, manage and...
Review posted Thu 1 Dec '11

It’s difficult to know how to approach this one really, as an app the features look fine with clear screen pages and it’s all pretty thorough. To be honest though if I had a bunch of friends that needed this much organization just for a night out at the cinema I think I might be tempted to try and find some new ones. It’s not just for the cinema of course as you can use fasterplan to organize any type of get together with your chums. Not only can you suggest an activity but you can give them a whole host of options ... Read more
