An easy-to-use app to filter out the ads, data and tracking mechanisms from your mobile

Peace of Mind - Ad and Content Blocker Relaxed browsing without ads...
Review posted Sun 27 Dec '15

While I can totally see the need for developers to have ads, data and tracking mechanisms built into their websites, it doesn't make it any less a pain in the ass for the viewer. Not only could there be a possible breach of security involved but unwanted ads and data uses up precious bandwidth and slows down your speed of service. It's even worse when viewing on your mobile because the screen is smaller and bandwidth is even more limited. The aptly named Peace of Mind is a privacy and security app for iOS that is an easy way to ... Read more

Religion in general gets a pretty bad rap these days, doesn't it? Some say that it's on the decline. While a recent Gallop survey suggests that 40% of Americans go to church on the weekends, figures from the church itself put that figure at closer to 20%. That doesn't make it any less relevant to the way of life of millions of people around the world, though. I think it was comedian Steve Martin who said in the film "Grand Canyon" that "the answer to all life's problems are in the movies." Well, to many, the answer to all of ... Read more

Whether its your email provider, your favorite department store or Government offices - its seems that everyone is at risk from hackers these days. So, what's the answer? 2 Eyes On You Protect Their Innocence
Review posted Wed 21 Oct '15

There's little doubt that the iPad and tablets in general have completely changed the way we think and work these days. For kids, in particular, they have opened up a whole new world of entertainment and education, the like of which we've never seen before. There are apps being put on the market now that would never have seen the light of day if there wasn't a tablet to view them on. Typically though, there's a downside to most new things. For a start, how do we know that the things our children are viewing on the Internet are safe ... Read more

You might have seen a review that FeedMyApp ran recently for an iOS app called Notes Lock. It secured all your notes, recorded conversations and your private thoughts so that prying eyes wouldn't be able to get to them. Folder Lock Advanced is kind of an expanded version of that for both Android, iPhone and iPad that takes security one step further to protect and lock your personal folders, files, photos, apps, videos, notes, wallet and any other kind of data that you need to keep secure. This release is actually an updated and far more advanced version of the ... Read more

A few years ago I had a friend who had been laboriously plotting a story that he hoped might be taken up as a tv series. He kept it tucked away on his mobile device and worked on it diligently for over a year. I contacted him again a couple of years later after I'd seen the pilot episode of a new series because the plot line bore a remarkable resemblance to his own. He told me that he'd seen the episode and put two and two together and worked out that, while he'd been at a writers’ workshop, he'd ... Read more

If there's one word that comes to mind regarding our online activities over the last few years it is security. Not only are there people from as far as the Ukraine and China trying to access our private information but there's also been plenty of occasions when friends, family and co workers have felt the compulsion to see what we are up to on our devices. I've lost count of the number of times that I've seen an embarrassing post on a friend's social media account which has obviously been entered by someone other than themselves when they have left ... Review posted Thu 6 Aug '15

When I first spoke about the concept of cloud computing to a friend in the business in England a few years ago, we both knew that there was one thing that stood in the way - security. While it was possible to offer cheap and reliable cloud collaboration, how could customers be 100% sure that their private and confidential data was 100% secure? Well, this could well be the answer to those sceptics. Ribose is a free, cloud-based, social collaboration app that connects you with friends, family, fellow-workers and communities whilst adhering to the highest possible security levels to ensure ... We hear a lot of talk about websites like Facebook not taking our privacy seriously enough these days. The fact is, you really have to take things into your own hands if you want to protect yourself online. I guess the golden rules are...don't post stuff that you don't want others to see and always check your settings on a regular basis. The fact is, George Orwell was right - Big Brother is watching us. Whether they are taking notice of what we are doing is another matter but, given the Edward Snowden and NSA revelations of the last year ... Read more
