Peerdea Feedback for your concepts
Review posted Tue 3 Jan '12

It's all very well to create your concept - whether it be a piece of art, a website or even a piece of music you've written - but how do you know if it's any good or if it's even sellable. Maybe with the right word in your ear it could be tweaked or improved. You could ask your partner, family or friends but would they be subjective enough to really help? Probably not. Peerdea is a social feedback app that is designed for artistic people to get critical appraisal on their minor masterpiece by their peers. That is, other artisans ... Read more

Tell in Future save your words for the...
Review posted Tue 3 Jan '12

It’s not easy to see where the pitch is for this one but perhaps some additional developments are on the cards to give it more appeal. I hope so because as it is, a few lines of type seem a little miserly to make someone wait ages for. The concept is simple and very easy to use. Type a message in the text box, scroll through the calendar function and set a date and precise time for the message to be available for the recipient or recipients to read.  You’ll then be sent a unique URL which you can pass on ... GINQ Movies social network !!
Review posted Fri 30 Dec '11  ·  4 comments

Ginq certainly looks good, that's for sure. But there are, of course a squillion movie apps around. So what makes Ginq different to all the others? Well, it really is a movie review site that wants to be Twitter. Ginq is a free social movie review app that wants you to review the movies you see. But it doesn't want some rambling account of the allegorical meanings of the director's latest magnum opus. Ginq wants a short precise 160 character assessment of the film that you can share with your friends.   If you are looking for a place to ... Read more

Review posted Fri 30 Dec '11  ·  2 comments

What better time to review an app that promises to turn clutter into cash than just after the majority of us will have had our clutter collection greatly enhanced! Christmas brings some great joy in the shape of presents but it also brings some comical jaw dropping moments when the wrapping paper hits the floor and you’re left with one thought;  "just what were they thinking of?" Zuujit is a social marketplace where you can list any items you want to sell, ship them and get paid for them. And staying with the subject of the season of goodwill it can also ... Read more

Safe social network for kids - proper parental control

Vikido.com Live - Share - Smile
Review posted Fri 30 Dec '11

Letting your kids loose on the internet must be a worry for any parent. With a range of social networks to choose from it’s not always easy to know just who’s hooking up as a friend and looking at photographs. On the other hand of course you don’t want to deprive youngsters of the pleasure of sharing special moments and at the same time honing some useful computer skills. Doing all of this in the knowledge that the environment is safe and secure is obviously the answer to all of those concerns and Vikido looks like a great place to start your ... Pictte Grow as an Artist
Review posted Sat 24 Dec '11

For those of you who have an artistic bent but are yet to be discovered by the great art buyers of the world then this site will probably tick most of your boxes. If you’re an avid sketcher, prefer water colors or even dabble in oils then you can upload your masterpieces and get them critiqued by your peers out there. If your preferred artistic medium is photography there is room for that on Piccte as well. It’s all about points of course and you have to earn them. To kick things off all new members are given sufficient points to enable ... Read more

Road rage online - the safer version

Driver Ratings Rate other drivers etiquette...
Review posted Sat 24 Dec '11

If you’ve ever been cut up by a lousy driver and are clever enough to take down their license plate without breaking the law then you now have the platform to warn the rest of the locality about them. You can of course also flag up any drivers who impress you with their road skills, well their license plate anyway. I’m not sure I would have the inclination to get home, log in and vent my spleen about someone who had just pulled out in front of me. If it was a really dangerous piece of driving which could, but for ... Read more

Social sharing with revenue opportunities

Po.st Share content online
Review posted Fri 23 Dec '11

I always wondered how publishers reclaimed monetary compensation when content on their site is copied. Up until now the answer to that has been "with great difficulty and an awful lot of trust." However, with the introduction of this social sharing and analytical site, there is now an opportunity for publishers to track when their content is copied and also provides a tool that includes a link back to your site when it is pasted.   Po.st is a win for both the publisher and their audience.  Unlike alternatives like ShareThis and AddThis, Po.st is the only social sharing platform ... Spread the word on those deals...

BragTaggs Brag about the deals you find...
Review posted Fri 23 Dec '11

This one looks like an awful lot of work for just a trophy badge and the chance of a $20 gift card now and then but it has only just emerged from private beta so we’ll put the acid filled pen away……for now. The concept is based on the perception that people who find an amazing deal somewhere will not be able to stop themselves from spreading the news. I agree to a point but it does fall down somewhere in my opinion. I am all for spreading the news of discounted food or gas as it is a charitable thing to ... Read more
