Stop Theft Class Affordable and Effective...
Review posted Mon 5 Dec '11

As distance learning courses go this is a very interesting one but one that caters for an important need none the less. In this respect I think it does a pretty good job. We live in slightly more enlightened times these days when it comes to some types of crime and for a lot of misdemeanours a brief educational course rather than a spell in prison is often the outcome of a Court hearing. This one, as the title clearly indicates, is aimed at stopping those found guilty of theft from re-offending. The meaning of the word theft in this instance covers ... Read more

There are quite a lot of sites around matching people who need information to relevant experts and this follows similar lines to a lot of them. In this case though the emphasis is on gaining instruction so if you want lessons in Arabic or mathematics or perhaps would like to know how to create a Wiki you can search and find an instructor willing to teach you online. Being a two-way arrangement it follows then that you can sign up to instruct or sign up to learn. Anyone looking for instruction can search by the tags or enter a subject or ... Read more

Build student reports via templated comments

Report comment bank School reports made simple
Review posted Fri 25 Nov '11  ·  1 comment

I have to say when I first looked through this app I was a little concerned that teachers could just pick from a set of pre-loaded comments to appraise the students in their care.I had a fleeting moment of forgetfulness I suppose because thinking back to my pre-computer schooldays things were pretty much the same. Well they were in the case of my math teacher who could have saved himself a lot of time by getting a couple of rubber stamps made containing the phrases, "is easily distracted" or "could do better."With practically every other activity you can think of now made easier ... Review posted Fri 25 Nov '11

This is not so much an app really but more like a fantastic way for schools to access a veryimportant tool for the improvement of literacy amongst its pupils. This comprehensive testing system is coupled with a number of detailed reports to enableteachers to gauge the true reading age of pupils in their care. It goes without saying thatall of data that ends up on the site is securely encrypted to industry standards. On top ofthat, and consistent with any activity involving minors, anyone with access to it is fully CRBchecked (Criminal Records Bureau). The scale of the tests covers ˈListen and ... Read more

Kly.so The URL Shortening Service
Review posted Mon 21 Nov '11

Why would you need to shorten your URL I ask myself? Mine is pretty short anyway. But shortening one's URL is not about most of us. Where it is of most benefit is with something like a particular forum or if you share a link on Facebook or Twitter. Kly.so is a URL Shortening Service that not only does the shortening work for you but also pays you for the privilege. The only thing that they ask is to put a small advert on your link (which can be skipped). Read more

Review posted Thu 3 Nov '11

Don't you hate it when you get those phone calls around dinner time from some guy in India who says he's in the next town to you and wants to talk you into a new mobile plan? I find it very annoying when they just cut you off when you question them. Or maybe it's someone doing a prank call for Halloween and you want to get them back. So how do you find out the number of the person who called? EphoneReverse is pretty well what you think it is. It let's you see who just called you and ... Read more
