This is a really useful app but I’m confused about where the developer is targeting the marketing campaign! There is a really strong headline message aimed at the guys on the road who need to claim expenses with the emphasis on getting paid quicker by smartening up their act. This is all good stuff but it is also clearly a tool equally as useful to businesses with a lot of people on the road claiming expenses.
Quite simply the app takes away the headache of lost receipts and streamlines the way you or your business handles expense claims. Take a photo of the receipt with a mobile phone, digital camera or scan it and then email it to your snapexpense.com account. When you log in you will see a picture of the receipt along with an information box where you can add a description.
A company setting this system up can set spending limits and the app will warn users when they’re getting close or exceeding them.
Once the details of all the expenses have been logged they can be sent up the line for approval (or rejection) by a line manager. By clicking on submissions the line manager can drill down and see all the detail, including pictures of the receipt, before deciding on the appropriate action.
The app clearly has strong business attributes and can produce reports showing all aspects and trends of the expenses submitted by staff. The ability to do this will no doubt please accounting departments, until they see a pie chart with a high level of Champagne purchases on it that is. The information can also be exported to the relevant accounting software used by a business.
Conclusion
I’d say the app should be marketed at CEO’s of businesses who will get a great tool to keep those out in the field on their toes. Equally, those people will enjoy no longer having to stare at a pile of receipts and thumbing through a diary to remember what they were for.
