They've been telling us over the last few months that the US economy is well on the way to recovery and that recovery is being led by home construction. That certainly isn't the case in Europe as yet but it's the American economy that tends to pull the rest of the world out of the doldrums. I tend to look at the US economy as being like an ocean liner. It takes a while to get up to speed but, when it does get going, it's hard to stop. By my reckoning, the US has just found second gear. So, getting back to the construction industry, we have here a very useful and informative app put together by a couple in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Johnathan Winters and his partner put together Ready Aim Renovate to show how possible it is to renovate your home with smart home improvement ideas as well as great budgeting tips. It works in a very Zen way of contemplation and action.
Ready Aim Renovate is not an app like many others we have reviewed over the years. The basic idea is to give inspiration and ideas on converting your existing space into your dream home with smart home improvement updates and clever budget ideas. After a number of hit and miss efforts in the past with renovating and selling living spaces, this pair have purchased a place in the Catskills in upstate NY and want to chronicle the renovation process as they fix it up. Winters has said that he believes that the most rewarding experiences have come from setting goals with intention and acting on them. While it's not quite the Zen way of contemplation and action, Winters describes it more like aiming and firing. This repetitive process of focusing, aiming, and “shooting for it” is what makes life worth living for them and, while there have been some failures in the past, they aim to put their hearts and souls into the work they do so that it eventually doesn’t feel like work, it just becomes a way of life.
They look forward to chronicling this most recent and most personal acquisition of a house that they plan to renovate and then rent as a vacation home to guests as well as using it as their weekend getaway. So the idea is for the viewer to explore the renovation process with them and be inspired to do something similar. They will attempt to give you the critical tools to make it happen but the rest you’ll have to learn by trying yourself.
As you can see, Ready Aim Renovate is a very different kind of app to the ones we usually review here at the FeedMyApp offices. The fact is, we really liked the idea of following the Winters' team over a long period of time and getting tips and methodology from people who have a reasonable idea of the best ways to attack their work. There are heaps of blog articles that describe the best way to deal with everything from painting the walls to staining the floors to furniture choices. I think the Winters' adventures are going to be very informative as well as being a heap of fun.
