It must be the most difficult time ever for fundraising these days! Governments worldwide are being forced to reduce their humanitarian exploits and families are under pressure from all sides financially and there is not a lot left to give. So now methods and pathways are required to encourage people to hand over their hard earned money to charity. GoalsForGiving is a charity application specifically designed for charitable fun runners and takes your fundraising into your social networks.

Goals for Giving is a way for fundraisers to raise awareness of their charities by using social networks. While training for an event fundraisers can log their runs using Runkeeper with many other services including MapMyRide to be added soon. GoalsForGiving is designed to post a supportive tweet, Facebook or Linkedin post to encouraging followers and friends to support the charity by donating to the charity directly. Track your training and show your friends just how dedicated you are to your personal fitness as well as drawing attention to the cause you are promoting. Every time you go for a run, bike ride or even a walk, GoalsForGiving tracks your activity with any of the available fitness apps. Once you've finished and logged your session, the app grabs the details, composes them into a great message to your friends and family and send it out to your networks. So not only are you promoting your charity but you are getting extra motivation for your training and maybe even get a pat on the back from your friends for training so hard. All messages include a link out to your fundraising page helping you to easily keep you campaign in their minds and guide people to your donation page. You can have you page anywhere and this charity app makes sure your benefactors arrive safe and sound and ready to donate!

The catchy by-line for GoalsForGiving is 'from fitness to fundraising in one click' and that sums it up pretty well. I recently had a great friend run in the Cincinnati Color Run and she would have benefitted enormously from this app by using the app to log their running times and encourage donations. We all know the persuasive capabilities of social networks and it is the perfect way to include your friends or followers into your philanthropic exploits as well as your commitment to better fitness. So, maybe it's time to get active and donate your social streams for a very worthwhile cause.
