It’s very tempting to sign up for this one and then have a long rant about the need for its existence but I haven’t got the time or the inclination. Besides, I can have a rant about it here. When all is said and done there is not really that much to rant about and the main reason for that is because there really isn’t that much period! The site blurb confidently shouts out about using it to rant to the world rather than just your Facebook and Twitter friends but by the look of it the world is yet to wake up to the idea.
It follows the same old pattern of these things in that you can sign up, moan away about anything that’s annoying you, share it on Facebook and Twitter and then sit back and wait for the lively discussion to start. Don’t’ hold your breath though; you could have a lonely wait.
I know it has only been going for less than a year however take-up would appear to be slow in the extreme. If it wasn’t for a couple of blokes called Steve and Generic John there would hardly be any banter on the one solitary page of posts. Of course there are also a couple from the omnipresent ˈanonymousˈ but we all know where they may have come from.
RantSocial also allows for the formation of groups so that a topic can go on and on amongst like-minded renter’s. I’m sorry to report however that the formation of a single group has yet to be achieved although I’m unsure as to why Steve and Generic John haven’t teamed up.
Conclusion
After all of the launch hype perhaps people are happier just ranting on Facebook and Twitter than to the whole world. Either that or they might just be of the opinion that the guy who’s upsetting them at work in North Carolina is of little interest to the guy in Tokyo.
