JobVent is a job review tool that offers the chance for employees to make anonymous reviews about their place of work -good or bad. Employees can rate their company on a 1 to 5 scale and the final rating represents the average of the reviewers' ratings for each of the detailed ratings categories, including pay, job security, career growth, etc. There are a few rules that the contributors have to follow. They must be truthful and the experiences they contribute must be their own. One review per company. No identification of specific people. No vitriol or obscenity. Work is one of the most important parts of our lives... so if you can read reviews of the latest books or electronics - why shouldn't you be able to read reviews of what it's like to work at your next employer?

Who would have believed it? An agony column for anonymous employees? Seriously though, the comments are really useful and quite eloquent. The last thing you need is to land yourself a job with a new company only to find that they don't treat their employees well or there is dissent within the organization.
