If you are getting a little sick of your friends abandoning you in your time of need then Flakey Friends is a fun way of getting your own back. This rather unique social app is kind of a dig in the ribs to those friends that pull out of a date at the last minute, fail to turn up for a get together or just generally let you down one too many times. To get your own back, in the nicest possible way, you can 'out' them through your favorite social networking site. Not that it's particularly vindictive but it is a little reminder to your friends, in a very subtle way, that it's not okay to flake out on you when you've made an arrangement to do something together.

Flakey Friends is a fun, interactive and unique social app for iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone that allows you to publicly tag friends that flake out on you. Flakey Friends allows users to sign in on both Facebook and Twitter and be prompted to type in a message or select a pre-populated message such as “did not show up” or “flaked on me at the last minute!” by tapping the “comments” button. Reporting a flakey friend posts a status update to Facebook and/or Twitter that includes the message, along with the flaking friends’ name. Now while you could easily post 'flaking' notices on Facebook and Twitter yourself without the need for Flakey Friends there is talk of this app raising it's profile somewhat in the near future to include many other social networks as well as push notifications between the two protagonists so it could take on a life of it's own...without upsetting too many of your friends, hopefully.

There's always one member of your social entourage who pikes out at the last minute when you have made arrangements to do something together. Do it once and that's understandable, twice is stretching the friendship - any more times than that and they had better have a bloody good excuse. Flakey Friends let's you subtly remind them and the rest of your friends that they are pushing their luck...but in the nicest possible way. It turns a tricky situation into one that you can laugh at together whilst still getting your message across. So if you have come to the limit with that friend who always seems to pull out at the last minute, this free social app might well be a gentle way of saying it's not okay.
