It must have been my growing up in a household that was stacked with Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes novels that led to my love of a genuinely good  'whodunnit' mystery. I used to love trying to figure out who the dastardly murderer was or who stole the jewels from some stately mansion. Then along came the Cluedo board game and it went to another level. The thought of Mr Mustard bludgeoning someone to death with a hammer in the kitchen still haunts me. Things changed inexorably though when fully interactive games like Myst and, later on, Syberia were unleashed onto the world. They featured glorious graphics as well as haunting storylines to capture a huge audience. Now those experiences are all knitted together for The Hidden Treasure of Nahala. This Android and iOS mystery quest game with beautiful 3D graphics will keep you amused for hours.

Do you like mystery games where you have to locate clues and figure out how to use them? If you do, you might just be clever enough to find "The Hidden Treasure of Nahala?" The first thing you will notice about Nahala is the instant captivation of the realistic 3D environments and beautiful graphics -not to mention a suspenseful, custom-made and very atmospheric soundtrack. Then you can set out on your quest to try to solve the mysterious puzzles that lead you to more and more riddles. The game starts with a strange letter attached to a sun-shaped stone that you find at your door with an invitation to go to a mysterious address. When you get there, you will find a fascinating house that will make you want to find out more, reveal it's secrets and find the treasure. There are a lot of things that are unknown and even more that are unclear and this only makes you more eager to reveal the secrets that this place house hides. You can collect items along the way and use them throughout the game in order to unlock other mysteries. There are dozens of riddles and puzzles - some as difficult as the ones in “The Tower of Hanoi” - and they are guaranteed to force you to put your thinking cap on and get your brain to work. So, what is this place and who sent you that letter? Was it the weird couple that you met on your trip last summer? They were very nice and they really liked you, but there was something odd about them for sure. So, do you think that you are clever enough to work it the clues and riddles and find the treasure in the house? We shall see.

Well, I have to say straight away that The Hidden Treasures of Nahala is one of the more beautiful looking apps that I've ever seen. The 3D animation and great graphics are clean and they look great on your iDevice or Android. The puzzles and riddles that you need to solve are nicely obscure and not too obvious on first inspection - making it a game that will have a little longevity. It's basically a point and click game meaning it can be played by kids as well as adults and, f you get really stuck, you can always go to the walk through on the website to find out where you were going wrong. Nahala is a great little game for those of us who like to test out our brainpower with a little bit of mystery. It'll bring out the Sherlock Holmes in you.
