Someone asked me the other day what was the point of owning an iPad when their iPhone does almost as much and it made phonecalls, too. Not a bad point but, as I explained to them, I actually use my iPad  as a second computer these days. In fact, I use it way more than my regular computer. The fact is, with the right apps installed and a good WiFi connectability, there isn't much that it won't do that your regular computer will. The only thing that I would love it to do would be to view and edit my Microsoft Word documents, or run Power Point, Excel and text files from my device. Well, here’s the good news. Polaris Office is an immense cloud-based document manager that can be truly described as a fully-loaded mobile Office Suite for your iOS. It lets you view and edit Microsoft Word documents as well as many other regular Office tools.

If, like me, you have been hunting for a reliable mobile editing suite for your iPad then it would be hard to go past Polaris Office. Designed for everyone from students to business professionals,  Polaris Office lets you discover the full potential of your iOS device as a document workspace for people on the go. This universal management application delivers a uniquely powerful and seamlessly effective mobile office solution and allows users to view and edit Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel files, text files as well as being able to view PDF files on the go from anywhere you can find an Internet connection. The app also offers up a full slate of editing features, cloud support services, Zip file preview view functionality and enhanced performance on the new iPad.
Importantly, your files will display exactly the same as they appear in Word with many editing options also available. Polaris' interface is clean and very easy to use with its local operation giving it the edge over other cloud-based interactive systems. You can create documents internally or connect with Google Docs, Box, WebDav or DropBox to upload or download content and integrate with your native email application to view and edit messages within Polaris.

While there have been several Microsoft Office alternatives, Polaris certainly holds its own when matched up against them. Where it does have a major advantage over many others though, is in it's universal application. With iOS devices there is just one flat price that covers all of your iDevices but the continuing rise to dominance of the very portable and user-friendly iPad will make it a match made in heaven. Of course, Polaris Office doesn't have quite the breadth of actions available on the mothership, but it is a remarkably efficient set of tools that will enable you to take most of your Office capability on the road where ever you are. Usual price is $19.99 but, with Polaris Office now coming as standard issue on the Samsung flagship mobile, you can get it now at a much reduced price from your app store. Don't miss out!
