Create your own "Leonard Maltin-style" movie database

Since the glory days of movies, when Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide was to be seen on pretty much every film fan's bookshelf, all of us movie buffs have wanted to create a database of films we have watched. The Maltin guides would often feature movie reviews highlighted in different colors for 'films seen' and 'films not seen yet' and this is where a specific iPhone app is the obvious choice to take its place. Watched is a beautiful looking film tracking and review application where you can list, rate, review and share your personal movie collection with your friends.   ... Read more

Everyone loves a picture warping application and FaceFilm is definitely one of the better photo apps that we have seen here at the FeedMyApp office. Believe me, we've had heaps of fun with this one. So why has this app proved so popular? Well, you must have seen those short films where someone takes a face shot every day for one, ten or twenty years and strings them all together to show how you have developed and changed over the years. FaceFilm isn't going to tie you down for years on end taking self portraits but you can put a ... Read more

It's often said that critics are simply failed performers who got out of the bed the wrong way before they saw the film, played the game or visited the restaurant but that's not really fair. There are some great reviewers around these days with a pure passion for the things they love - but they are getting few and far between. Personally, I have a rule that I never review anything that I don't like, whether it is an app, a movie or a piece of music. But, with everybody seemingly having an opinion about everything these days, it seems ... Read more

Review posted Sat 22 Dec '12

The last ten years or so have not proven kind for independent filmmakers. It's hard enough to get your film made in the first place without trying to find ways of getting it noticed and turning it into a hit upon release. And with most of the takings coming in the first month of release it's important for your film to get maximum exposure at film festivals to potentially give it the leg-up it needs before opening. IFilmFest is an iOS application that gives the filmmaker a comprehensive guide to all the biggest film festivals around the world. This up ... Read more
