The only fitness app with real, live, human, personal trainers

truTrainer Real Trainers, Real Training
Review posted Mon 22 Jul '13  ·  112 comments

Many of us dedicated to getting our fitness back on schedule tend to go down one of two tracks these days. We either go the whole hog and hire a personal trainer to guide us back to a fitness regime we can handle or we invest in an app so that we can monitor our fitness ourselves. The only trouble there is that the cost of a personal trainer is pretty high and most apps tend to take a 'one size fits all' approach and assume everyone is at the same level of fitness to begin with. truTrainer combines those ... Review posted Wed 17 Jul '13  ·  493 comments

Thankfully, most of us have absolutely no idea of the often devastating effects of stress, panic attacks and poor sleeping patterns. Very often, the three go together. While we certainly don't trivialize stress there is a definite lack of understanding amongst the reneral public. For those that do suffer there are many methods of dealing with it that cover the whole gamut of healing methods that runs from everything from meditation to heavy drugs. Calm Down Now is a new healthcare application for iOS that attempts a much simpler remedy for stress relief and similar issues. Developed and created by ... Read more

A personal trainer that you can keep in your pocket

MyGym Your Own Personal Trainer
Review posted Thu 11 Jul '13  ·  13 comments

It seems that every time a good sized shop becomes available around my area there is one of two shops looking to move in. Firstly, there is the beautician that deals with all aspects of nail art. And then there is the Fitness center and gym. The two Main Street success stories of the last five years. It seems everyone wants to get their nails done, and everyone wants to get fit. So, it seems pretty obvious that a nicely designed fitness application like MyGym will find a lot of interest out there in app-land. MyGym is a very user-friendly ... Read more

Create simple native apps for your small business

Review posted Mon 13 May '13  ·  150 comments

It would be surprising to find out that a large company doesn't have an app attached to it these days. We have been told for the last two years that an online presence is essential in these internet crazy times. With the boom in smartphones hitting an all time high and people thirsting for new apps to put on them these large businesses have had a head start on smaller ones - primarily because of the cost factor but also because it was deemed to be hard work to put a native app together. ZeitConnect is a foot-in-the-door app creator ... Read more

Supplement your own diet by taking it on the road

UControl Weight Introducing UControl Weight,...
Review posted Thu 2 May '13  ·  225 comments

Here is a health and fitness app that doesn't come with any weight loss guarantees. It doesn't magically transform you from overweight to lightweight overnight nor is it a mind expanding instant answer to your dieting problems. What it is, though, is a well thought out companion to your weight control program that can give you the same dietary help when you are on-the-go as when you are in the comfort of your own surroundings at home. UControlWeight helps you keep full track of the calorie content of the things that you eat during the day by parking itself on ... Read more

Stopping smoking isnt a game...but it can help

KwitHD Quit smoking is a game!
Review posted Fri 8 Mar '13  ·  524 comments

The days of the cigarette smoker are almost numbered. This generation will more than likely be the last where it's a natural thing t buy a packet of smokes after school given the massive worldwide anti smoking campaigns, rising prices, restrictions on where you can smoke and packets that feature grotesque pictures of dying patients. That's all very well for the youngsters who won't take up  smoking up in the first place (and good on them) but what about the long term addicted smoker? They need all the help they can get to kick the habit. KwitHD is a health ... Read more

Review posted Fri 15 Feb '13  ·  42 comments

Namaste. Yoga and meditation are now a huge part of many people's lives. There is a Yoga school in even the smallest town and meditation, which used to be laughed at by the general populace, is now part and parcel of everyday living. It is said that the act of meditation can lower the heart rate significantly as well as reducing anxiety levels and general mood. You can track and manage your breathing and even track your heart rate when you add a compatible heart rate monitor into the equation. Buddha Mind lets you control your meditative techniques even better. ... Read more

A new way to quit for the serious smoker

Gotta Smoke Achieve a smoke-free life!
Review posted Fri 4 Jan '13  ·  4 comments

I think that it's safe to say that life isn't easy for the smoker these days. They have to stand outside in the wind and the rain for a quick puff, their packets of cigarettes now feature grotesque images of mutilated body parts and the packs themselves seem to increase in price every time you turn your back. Most of these measures have been put in place to try to convince younger smokers that it isn't worth taking up smoking in the first place and, to be quite honest, it is working with the percentage of smokers dropping significantly in ...
