Gablit is a new entertainment and recommendation, social search engine, born out of London a few years back, when three entrepreneurial types realized one night when they had lost their mobile phone, that trying to find the best entertainment available was turning into a full time job. They decided to develop this classy, informative, localized entertainment guide that encourages entertainers to promote their event and  gives the audience a place to find out everything that is going on around them or wherever they are planning on visiting.   Gablit solves a problem that people often find themselves having to deal ... Review posted Tue 19 Feb '13

London is a very big city and on any given week there is something like 600 concerts to choose from featuring everything from Irish folk to top 40 to the very best classical orchestras in the world. There's also around 30 different theatrical performances playing not to mention the 11000 bars and restaurants at your disposal. So if you are a visitor to the 'Big Smoke,' as it used to be known, it's almost a full time job to research where to go. You could pick up a copy of Timeout and a bunch of other mags or log on ... Listen to what your social interest network has to say

Evzdrop Welcome to the new interest...
Review posted Sat 9 Feb '13

Secretly, whether we like to admit it or not, there is a little bit of voyeurism in most of us. We want to know what is happening around us. It might be listening into someone's conversation about the restaurant they ate in last night or hearing someone else's opinion about a new store that has just opened. But eavesdropping in on other people's conversations is probably not the best or the most reliable way of finding out what is being said. Evzdrop (which is pronounced eavesdrop) is a new type of app that lets you tap into what people are ... Read more

The last third of Cameron Crowe's much maligned minor classic movie "Elizabethtown" features a lengthy road trip for Orlando Bloom's character Drew. It's a fabulous and classic road trip that he undertakes and one that has inspired many to take that same trip. The travel story is mapped out beautifully by his new friend Claire and takes him from from Louisville Kentucky down to New Orleans via all sorts of fascinating places on the way. Gazettr is a new travel application that draws on the same passion and enthusiasm that Claire's road trip gave to Drew. It's a place to ... Read more

It's a 21st Century next generation interactive city entertainment guide

WikiDo WIKI DO: Things to Do today...
Review posted Thu 20 Dec '12  ·  10 comments

I wonder how many of you know what's going on in terms of entertainment in your city tonight. You'll probably think you have a pretty good idea but it's actually fairly difficult to get a grip on the multitude of events that are happening every night in a major city unless you buy an evening newspaper, the local 'whats on' guide and then check a few local Internet sites. Wikido is a very flexible  geolocalization-based entertainment search engine that hunts down all the entertainment in your city from countless websites whether it be a concert, a rodeo or sports event. ... Use Facebook to geolocalize your hunt for those Louboutin shoes

Facearound Explore the world around you!
Review posted Sat 17 Nov '12  ·  1 comment

One of the big problems with new startups is that, even though the developers have come up with a brilliant concept, the app really can't take off without having plenty of members to input information. Quite often, an app really won't hit it's straps until a year or so into its life - if it lasts that long. With Facearound you don't get that problem because it is directly tied to Facebook and draws on a lot of their members' information while encouraging its own members to get involved too. What this iOS app does it to geolocate all the ... Read more

Review posted Mon 1 Oct '12

There are still people out there that believe that climate change is a myth but I think the more astute of us realize that, weather-wise, things aren't quite the way they used to be where the weather is concerned. Massive storms and tornadoes and drought across large areas of America. A couple of years ago in Australia there was a slowly moving flood that was the size of Germany and Poland put together. And we won't even talk about the Katrina floods. One of the most important things that has been learnt is that there is nothing better than an ... Read more

Coworfing Find the best places to work...
Review posted Sun 29 Jul '12

The first thing i have to say about this social geolocalisation and networking application is remember the name because you might be hearing it a lot in the near future. Coworfing is a fascinating concept of an idea that encourages freelance workers and entrepreneurs to physically get together and share their cool workspaces with like minded individuals. But this is not simply an office space sharing situation. Coworfing aims to provide coworking spaces where ideas will flow, you can meet new creative people and get fresh viewpoints on your problems.   Coworfing is a place for freelancers, entrepreneurs, students and ... Glassmap The coolest way to show your...
Review posted Mon 2 Jul '12

When you think about it, Glassmap owes as much to the Starship Enterprise as it does to evolving geolocation technology. All this comprehensive GPS and communication application needs to complete it is a button that says "Beam me up Scotty" and it would fit nicely on Spock's utility belt. Glassmap goes under the title of a geolocation device but, in reality, it's way more than just that. Not only does it let you share your exact location with friends but there are also tools to share photos in real time, co-ordinate meetings, chat messaging and VoIP. In fact, pretty well ... Read more
