EatOpine is an awesome app that allows you to discover new restaurants in your area in a cool and innovative way. If you love food you’ll love this app!
If you’ve ever used your iPhone to search for a place to eat, you’ve undoubtedly heard of apps like Yelp. EatOpine, by EatOpine LLC, goes beyond ratings and reviews by encouraging users to submit photos of their meals.
The app serves as a platform for food lovers to review dishes, meals, and entrees at a multitude of restaurants. Users take a photo of their meal and write reviews on the meal item. Dishes and restaurant ratings are taken from a culmination of user reviews and ratings.
Raising the bar for typical restaurant review apps, EatOpine lets users review menu items instead of the restaurant or establishment itself. Since restaurants are based on individual menu items, the team at EatOpine, foresaw a niche in the app community that needed to be filled.
As someone who is always looking for new place to eat, I know I would use EatOpine on a regular basis. It also functions as a way for people to spread the word about fantastic restaurants in the area that deserve to be recognized.
EatOpine launched is now available in the iTunes app store.

I read an article not so long back about how some New York restauranteurs were banning customers from taking arty photographs of their plates of food because it disrupts the ambience of the venue. Rather than surreptitiously taking a quick snap of the food they were about to devour, diners were going so far as to stand on their chair to get the perfect shot of their culinary delight. While we can only sympathise with restaurants who are having to put up with these excessive antics from customers, I feel that they are probably missing out on a great marketing tool that could make them even more successful.
EatOpine is a great new foodie app for iOS that encourages customers to take photographs of their food so that others can discover new restaurants, diners, cafes or any other kind of food establishment that you care to name. The app serves as a platform for food lovers to rate and review dishes, meals and entrees at a multitude of eating establishments. Diners can take a photo of the food that they are enjoying and, after they have tasted and finished their meal, rate and review it - along with the establishment itself - and share it through the app.
The app offers a very simple concept. Users take a photo of their meal - using the camera on their iPhone or iPad - and write a review on the meal item. Dishes and restaurant ratings are then calculated using a combination of user reviews and ratings. Other users can check the photos, the ratings and reviews of meals and find new and interesting eating places in their area. What makes this different from an app like Yelp is that it goes one step further by supplying the personal photos and recommendations that are delivered by real customers.
EatOpine's developers saw an opening for a new food app when they realised that most restaurants base their reputation on the menu items that they present rather than the overall business itself. This app is unique in that it lets users review the individual meals rather than the restaurant or eating establishment. All it would take would be for the customers to take and share a photo of their delicious meal and they would have an app that is cool, innovative and different from all the rest. And we know how much millennials love to take photos of their food, don't we?
EatOpine reviews menu items rather than the restaurant that cooks them. It's a platform where foodies and food lovers can voice their opinion by reviewing great dishes wherever they are for the greater good of others. At the last time of checking, they had over 13,000 users engaged, over 46,000 eating establishments involved and 11820 dishes reviewed along with their individual photos. It's a great way to spread the word on new eating establishments in your local area and it's also great if you're traveling in unfamiliar territory and are looking for a good meal. The app itself is attractive to look at and easy to navigate. The developers' mission is to create a foodie community and help everybody find and devour the best possible meal. EatOpine is available now for iPhone and iPad in the App Store.
Oh...and there's one last thing. Please don't stand on your chair to take a photo of your meal. It's not a good look. Enjoy!
