If you’re a bit of a wordsmith and fancy the challenge of writing a haiku then this website is a place where you can have a bit of fun and share your efforts with all the others trying to squeeze their creative juices into 17 syllables.
They now have an iPhone version too so you can get your inspiration down even when you’re on the move.
It’s very simple and you don’t have to sign in if all you want to do is read the haiku’s already posted. If you want to join in then just sign up via Facebook or Twitter and write away to your heart’s content.
If you’re worried about constantly having to check to see if you’re going over the syllable allowance then don’t be. There is a text box with three sections to write in and it will cut you off once you hit the limit making sure you comply with the 5-7-5 format unique to this Japanese inspired poetry technique.
Do it as often as you like and see your results posted up on the homepage of the site. Get followers on board or follow anyone else writing haiku’s, it’s all part of the fun. Let the world know how you’re feeling on any particular day and give your brain some creative exercise because it’s no easy thing to write a coherent and meaningful haiku having tested some of the world’s best to the limit.

It’s great fun trying though
Conclusion
Great fun for the budding poets out there and it’s free too.
