Instagram made a splash when it announced it's new multiple photo feature. Multiple news sites reported on the new feature which allows you to post up to 10 images in one post. Many photographers, including myself, took advantage of this handy feature to make long, swipeable panoramic images. But being the few to first try this, we encountered problems brought on by manual cropping. Manually cropped images would sometimes come out jagged or misaligned due to human error. Thus we were left to spend minutes at a time to perfectly align our images or end up throwing in the towel in frustration. That is all until the InstaSwipe app came to the rescue.
InstaSwipe is a simple app that lets you select, crop, rotate, and magnify an image which you can then split into equal parts of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 pieces. When these pieces are uploaded using the multiple photo feature, it creates a seamless panoramic image without having to sacrifice the image resolution. It's perfect for any professional or amateur photographers who want to captivate their followers with immersive post.
The simplicity and style of the app truly stands out. InstaSwipe takes inspiration from Instagram's applications, "Boomerang" and "Layout", to create a unique but familiar feel. The result is a professional looking application that doesn't fight back or get in the way of what you need to accomplish.
And the best part? The app is free to use! While it does contain ads, they remain at a fixed position at the bottom of the screen and are completely unintrusive.
Although there are other applications that borrow this idea, I have found InstaSwipe to be the most featureful out of the bunch. It includes a handy feature such as sharing your image straight to the cropping app. The images does not even have to be saved to your phone and can be shared from your browser, an MMS message, an email, or anywhere else you can share an image. The app is also small in size and is able to handle large files without sacrificing the resolution.
The app is has been met with a lot of positivity so far. With over 3000 downloads and 40+ 5-star ratings in just a matter of weeks. Thanks to Instaswipe, we can now easily create panoramic images in seconds all while saving us the frustration. It is a must have for photographers and the casual user.
